3. Rani Laxmibai Free Scooty Yojana (new for 2026)

A newly announced scheme with a ₹400 crore allocation, giving free scooties to meritorious girl students. Phase 1 covers final-year Graduation and Postgraduation students, with reported cutoffs around 75-85%+ marks, a tentative income limit of ₹2.5 lakh/year, and preference for rural/EWS applicants. Since this launched in 2026, treat the exact cutoffs and rollout timeline as still firming up. Check the UP government portal for the current phase’s precise numbers before assuming you qualify based on last cycle’s figures.

4. Nirashrit Mahila Pension Yojana

Not girl-child specific, but still a women’s welfare scheme. It pays ₹1,000/month, credited quarterly, to women aged 18 and above who are left without support after their husband's death. The official pension portal defines it only this way. Divorced, separated or never-married women are not covered by this scheme, although several sites say they are.

Note: The portal's payout table for 2025-26 shows 26,12,786 women paid ₹783.83 crore in the first quarter. That works out to ₹3,000 each for the quarter, which confirms the ₹1,000 a month rate. Bhagya Laxmi Yojana (₹50,000 at birth to the mother + staged education support up to Class 12 + maturity payout) is still referenced on some sites, but its current active status alongside the enhanced MKSY isn’t entirely clear as of this update, if you’re specifically looking for Bhagya Laxmi, verify directly with your local Anganwadi or the Women & Child Development office whether it’s still accepting applications, since MKSY may have effectively absorbed its role.

3. Widowed woman without support: Nirashrit Mahila Pension is the relevant scheme, not the girl-child schemes above.
