| Negative marking | Each wrong answer in the objective test costs 0.25 marks. |
| Typing test | 10 minutes in English for 50 marks, with 25 needed to qualify. |
| Descriptive test | Comprehension, precis and essay in English, 2 hours, 100 marks, 50 to qualify. |
| Interview | The interview carries 25 marks and needs 13 to qualify. |

How 250 posts become 2,500 and then 750 candidates
| Selection step | Our working from the advertisement |
|---|---|
| Called for typing and descriptive | At 1:10 against 250 posts, about 2,500 candidates move to the second stage. |
| Called for interview | At 1:3, about 750 candidates reach the interview. |
| Typing target | 35 words a minute for 10 minutes is about 350 words. |
| Mistakes allowed | 3% of 350 words is about 10 full mistakes, or 21 capital-letter slips. |
| Where each stage happens | The objective test runs in 131 cities, the typing and descriptive tests only in Delhi NCR. |
| 2025 select list | The last JCA panel, issued on 10.10.2025, named 241 candidates. |
| 2025 panel validity | It stays valid for one year or until the next recruitment starts, whichever is earlier. |
Note: The 1:10 and 1:3 ratios are in clause 17 of the advertisement. The 2,500 and 750 figures are our arithmetic on 250 posts, and the real numbers will move if the Registry changes the vacancy count, which the advertisement allows. The descriptive answer sheets are checked only for those who clear the typing test, so typing is not a formality. The 2025 select list had separate sections for unreserved (187), SC (36) and ST (18) candidates. This advertisement starts the next recruitment process, so anyone still waiting on the 2025 panel should not count on it and should apply again.
