The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection has released the IBPS SO XVI 2026 notification for recruitment to Specialist Officer posts across 11 participating public sector banks. A total of 745 vacancies have been announced this year across six specialist streams, and applications are open from 1 July 2026.
This is the sixteenth edition of the Common Recruitment Process for Specialist Officers (CRP SPL-XVI), covering positions in IT, agriculture, law, Hindi (Rajbhasha), HR and marketing. Selection happens through an online preliminary exam, a mains exam, and a common interview, with the final merit list based only on mains and interview marks.

Marketing Officer (Scale I) has no vacancies in this cycle, so candidates from that stream will need to wait for a future CRP.
Eligibility
Age limit: Candidates must be between 20 and 30 years as on 1 July 2026, with standard government age relaxation for reserved categories.
Educational qualification (post-wise):
- IT Officer: Bachelor’s degree with a B-level certificate from DOEACC/NIELIT, or an engineering degree in Computer Science, IT or Electronics, or a postgraduate degree in a related computer discipline.
- Agricultural Field Officer: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or an equivalent agricultural science discipline.
- Rajbhasha Adhikari: Master’s degree in Hindi with English as a subject at degree level, or a Master’s in Sanskrit with Hindi and English as subjects.
- Law Officer: A three-year or five-year Bachelor’s degree in Law, and enrolment as an advocate with a Bar Council.
- HR/Personnel Officer: Master’s degree or postgraduate diploma in Personnel Management, Industrial Relations, HR, HRD, Social Work or Labour Law.
