Applications for the 65 Company Commander (General) posts in Bihar Home Guard under Advt. No. 08/2026 closed on 30.07.2026, and BPSSC has announced no examination date since, checked on 12.09.2026. Two things a candidate needs now are on no listing page: the full selection scheme, and the fact that a second 65-post Company Commander advertisement is open right now for serving home guards. Everything below is read out of the Commission’s own 15-page advertisement, which is set in a legacy Hindi font that will not copy or search on a phone.
The parallel Company Commander advertisement that is open now
Advt. No. 08/2026 is the direct-recruitment stream, open to general candidates. The Commission has since issued a matching advertisement for the same rank through the departmental quota.

How the exam is structured, and where most candidates are eliminated
The written stage runs twice, and the marks that decide the merit list come from only one paper out of three.

Physical test standards, which are pass-or-fail and carry no marks
The advertisement is explicit that height, chest and weight earn no marks at all — they only disqualify. The same is true of every event in the physical efficiency test, and the run is a gate before the rest.

Age is calculated from the date of birth on the matriculation certificate, not from any later document, and the graduation must already have been passed by the same date.
