Tip: SSC now captures the photo live during the application, but a correctly-sized passport photo is still needed for the e-call letter, document folder and most other exams. Signature must be uploaded — sign with black ink on white paper, never in capital letters.

Is my photo uploaded to any server?

No. The entire tool runs inside your browser using HTML Canvas. Your image never leaves your device, so it is completely private.

What size should an SSC CGL photo and signature be?

Photo: about 280 × 340 px, 20–50 KB, JPG, plain background. Signature: about 140 × 60 px, 10–20 KB, JPG, signed in black ink on white paper.

The file came out smaller than the minimum KB — is that a problem?

The tool automatically pads the JPEG (using a harmless comment marker) so the final size lands inside the required KB range. The image quality is unaffected.

How do I set the DPI?

Set the DPI value in the “Output format” box (96 is standard for web uploads, 300 for print). The tool writes the correct DPI into the JPEG header automatically.

Can I use this for other exams (UPSC, IBPS, Railway)?

Yes. Pick the “Custom” preset and type the width, height and KB limits your exam asks for. The crop and compress steps work for any format.
