IBPS SO XVI 2026 Result Date Expected

Candidates who appear for the IBPS SO XVI 2026 preliminary exam will want to know when the result is out and how the shortlisting works. Here’s what’s confirmed so far, and how to check your result once it’s declared.

Current Status

Result: Not Declared Yet. The preliminary exam is expected in August 2026, and based on past IBPS SO cycles, the prelim result usually comes out 4 to 6 weeks after the exam. That puts it somewhere around September or October 2026. This page will be updated the moment IBPS announces the result.

How to Check Result (When Declared)

1. Go to the official IBPS website and find the CRP SPL-XVI result link.
2. Click on “Preliminary Exam Result” for Specialist Officer XVI.
3. Enter your registration number and password or date of birth to view your status.
4. Shortlisted candidates can then download their mains exam call letter once it is released separately.

Selection Process After Prelims

Clearing the prelims only qualifies you for the mains exam. It doesn’t add to your final score. Candidates who meet both the sectional cut off and the overall cut off in prelims move to the mains exam, which is followed by a common interview. The final merit list is prepared purely from the combined score of mains and interview, so prelims should be treated as a qualifying hurdle rather than a scoring stage.

Once mains results are out, shortlisted candidates receive an interview call letter, and the interview marks are combined with mains marks (each normalized out of 100) to prepare the final allotment list for participating banks.
