RSSB CET Graduate Level 2026 syllabus has been issued with the Graduate Level Common Eligibility Test scheme for Rajasthan. The official signed syllabus states that the paper will have 150 multiple-choice questions for 300 marks, a duration of 3 hours and one-third negative marking for each wrong answer. This updated guide replaces the older short version and gives the complete subject map, scoring strategy and official reference sources.
Note: RSSB's press note of 28.09.2026 moved the Graduate Level CET to 16, 17 and 18 January 2027. There are two shifts on 16 and 17 January and one morning shift on 18 January. The Board cited the urban body and panchayat elections due in October 2026. The 01.12.2026 to 03.12.2026 dates seen on many pages belong to the Senior Secondary level CET, which stays on those days. This page carried them earlier and has corrected them against the press note, which we read on 29.09.2026.
RSSB CET Graduate 2026 exam pattern
| Paper feature | What applies |
|---|---|
| Questions and marks | 150 objective questions, 2 marks each, 300 marks in all. |
| Duration | 3 hours, one paper. |
| Negative marking | One third of a question’s marks, about 0.67 per wrong answer. |
| Subject areas | Rajasthan and India GK, reasoning, maths, computer, Hindi and English. |
| Exam dates | 16.01.2027 to 18.01.2027, as revised by RSSB on 28.09.2026. |
Note: The syllabus gives no fixed number of questions per subject. The subjects are history, art and culture of India and Rajasthan, geography, polity and economy, science, public health and current events, reasoning and mathematics, computer basics, general Hindi and general English. The online form closed on 02.08.2026.
All questions are objective and carry equal marks. The negative marking rule is strict: one-third of the total marks of that question will be deducted for a wrong answer. Since each question carries two marks, a wrong answer reduces the score by about 0.67 mark. Candidates should therefore attempt questions with accuracy and avoid random guessing, especially in factual Rajasthan GK and language questions.

History of India and Rajasthan syllabus
The Indian history portion includes important events, social and religious reform movements of the 19th and 20th centuries, phases of the freedom movement, major national events and contributions of freedom fighters from different regions. Rajasthan’s contribution to the Revolt of 1857, tribal and peasant movements, political awakening and Praja Mandal movement are specifically relevant. Post-independence nation building, national integration, reorganization of states, institution building and development of science and technology are also part of the syllabus.
Rajasthan history, art, culture, literature, tradition and heritage is one of the most decisive areas. Prepare ancient civilizations and archaeological sites such as Kalibangan, Ahar, Ganeshwar, Balathal and Bairath. Read important rulers, administrative systems, revenue systems, forts, monuments, paintings, handicrafts, major literary works, regional dialects, fairs, festivals, folk music, folk dances, religious movements, saints, folk deities and important historical places. This section rewards repeated revision more than deep theory.
Geography of India and Rajasthan syllabus
Indian geography includes physical features such as mountains, plateaus, deserts and plains, climate and monsoon system, major rivers, dams, lakes and oceans, wildlife and sanctuaries, major crops, minerals, energy resources, industries, transport, trade, population growth, density, literacy, sex ratio, disaster management and climate change. Use maps while studying because many geography facts become easier when located visually.
Rajasthan geography includes geological structure, physiographic divisions, climate, drainage system, lakes, ponds, dams, water conservation methods, natural vegetation, wildlife sanctuaries, soils, Rabi and Kharif crops, population distribution, major tribes, metallic and non-metallic minerals, renewable and non-renewable energy resources, tourism and transport. Make separate charts for rivers, dams, national parks, wildlife sanctuaries, minerals, tribes and physiographic regions. These are repeat-friendly topics and can produce quick marks.
Polity and economy syllabus
Indian political system with special reference to Rajasthan includes the Constituent Assembly, role of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, nature and features of the Constitution, Preamble, Fundamental Rights, Directive Principles, federal structure, constitutional amendments, emergency provisions, PIL, President, Prime Minister, Council of Ministers, Parliament and Supreme Court. It also includes national-level institutions such as Election Commission, CAG, Finance Commission, Lokpal, National Human Rights Commission, NITI Aayog and National Information Commission.
Rajasthan political and administrative system includes Governor, Chief Minister, State Legislative Assembly, High Court, Rajasthan Public Service Commission, district administration, State Human Rights Commission, Lokayukta, State Election Commission, State Finance Commission, State Information Commission, local self government and Panchayati Raj. Economy includes budget making, banking, public finance, GST, national income, growth and development, fiscal and monetary policy, subsidies, public distribution system, e-commerce, agriculture, industry, services, trade, five year plans, economic reforms and government initiatives.
Rajasthan economy, science and public health
Rajasthan economy includes food and commercial crops, irrigation and river valley projects, wasteland and drought-prone area development, industries and their location, agro-based industries, mineral-based industries, small, cottage and village industries, exports, handicrafts, poverty, unemployment, flagship schemes, social justice, cooperative movement, small enterprises, financial institutions and role of Panchayati Raj institutions in rural development. MGNREGA and Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission Gramin are specifically mentioned in the signed syllabus.
Science and technology includes physical and chemical changes, acids, alkalis and salts, electric current, heat, work and energy, diet and nutrition, blood groups and Rh factor, health care, infectious, non-infectious and zoonotic diseases, environment and ecology, biodiversity, natural resources, sustainable development, economic importance of animals and plants, agriculture, horticulture, forestry and animal husbandry with special reference to Rajasthan, ICT, defence technology, space technology and satellites. Public health includes first aid, CPR, drug abuse and prevention, physical and mental fitness of youth and health risks of social media addiction.
Reasoning, mathematics and computer knowledge
Logical reasoning and mathematics includes blood relation, number series, alphabet series, clock, calendar, mental ability, analytical ability, square, square root, cube root, factorization, quadratic equations, logarithms, LCM, HCF, average, profit-loss, percentage, simple interest, compound interest, ratio-proportion, time, speed, distance, work and time. Geometry and mensuration include angles, lines, rectilinear figures, congruence of triangles, area of triangles, circles, ellipses, rectangles, spheres and cylinders, trigonometric ratios, heights and distances, mean, median, mode, volume of sphere, cylinder, cube and cone, and graphical representation of data.
Computer knowledge includes characteristics and applications of computers, operating system, internet, email, memory, RAM, ROM, file system, input and output devices, MS Word, MS Excel, spreadsheet, MS PowerPoint, cyber security, e-services and artificial intelligence. This is a scoring section if prepared with short notes and practical examples. Do not spend weeks on advanced computer theory; focus on basic definitions, uses and common office applications.
General Hindi and English syllabus
General English includes articles, determiners, tense, sequence of tenses, active and passive voice, direct and indirect narration, prepositions, translation of common English sentences into Hindi and vice versa, synonyms, antonyms, comprehension, glossary of official and technical terms, letter writing, idioms and phrases, and one-word substitution. The syllabus also notes that letter-writing questions will be objective regarding the structure of a letter.
General Hindi includes sangya, sarvanam, visheshan, kriya, kriya visheshan, karak, avyay, sandhi, samas, upsarg, pratyay, vilom shabd, paryayvachi, anekarthak shabd, viram chinh, paribhashik shabdavali, shabd shuddhi, vakya shuddhi, vakyansh ke liye ek shabd, muhavare, lokoktiyan, rajbhasha Hindi ki samvaidhanik sthiti and official letters including office order, circular, notification, demi-official letter, tender and press release.
Rajasthan CET revision plan
For the first phase, finish Rajasthan history, art and culture with maps and timelines. This area has many factual names, so write short one-line notes for civilizations, forts, rulers, saints, folk deities, paintings, fairs and dances. In the second phase, cover Rajasthan geography and economy together because crops, minerals, irrigation, population, industries and tourism often connect with maps. In the third phase, cover polity, Indian economy, science, public health, computer and language. In the final phase, use only mock tests, short notes and error lists.
Current events and civic duty should be prepared from state, national and international news, but do not make it unlimited. Give special attention to Rajasthan government programmes, national policies, economic updates, sports, science, environment, public health and important personalities. The syllabus also mentions civic duties, fundamental duties, moral values and the Rajasthan Public Examination Act, 2022, so read these from official sources. Questions can be direct, such as a provision or purpose, or practical, such as unfair means prevention in public examinations.
Avoiding CET negative marking loss
In RSSB CET, negative marking changes the whole attempt strategy. Suppose a candidate guesses 15 questions randomly and gets only 4 correct. The gain is 8 marks, but 11 wrong answers reduce about 7.33 marks, leaving almost no benefit. If accuracy is weak, guessing wastes time and creates risk. During mocks, mark each question as sure, probable or doubtful. Attempt sure questions first, probable questions after elimination, and leave doubtful factual questions unless two options can be removed confidently.
Reasoning and mathematics should be solved on paper with clean steps. In history and culture, avoid overconfidence on similar-sounding names. In language, small grammar traps can cause wrong answers, so read all options. In computer, do not guess technical abbreviations unless you have revised them. A 150-question paper gives enough opportunity to score; the winning candidate is usually the one who protects marks, not the one who attempts everything.
