The UPSC NDA 1 2026 result written exam qualified list is out and still the only NDA I document UPSC has published. We downloaded both official PDFs and counted them: 7,879 candidates qualified for SSB from the written examination of 12 April 2026, of whom 7,399 are male and 480 female. Checked on 10.09.2026, no final result and no cut-off marks exist for this cycle. The press note also puts a two-week registration deadline on qualified candidates, and it runs on the Army’s website rather than UPSC’s.
Position on 10.09.2026
The UPSC What’s New board was read this morning. It carries NDA and NA (II) 2026 entries, a press note and an e-admit card, and nothing at all for NDA I 2026 beyond what was published in May.
| NDA 1 result status | UPSC, 10.09.2026 |
|---|---|
| Written result | Declared with a roll-number list dated 08.05.2026. |
| Name-wise list | Uploaded on 13.05.2026 with the same press note. |
| Final result | Not out yet, as the What’s New entry has no document. |
| Cut-off marks | Not published, and they come only after the whole cycle ends. |
| Live NDA notices | Only NDA and NA (II) 2026 has a live notice and admit card. |
| Courses | The 157th NDA and 119th INA courses start on 01.01.2027. |
| Status of names | Every name on the list is provisional until conditions are met. |
Note: INA is the Indian Naval Academy course. Candidature depends on meeting the conditions of admission.

Qualified candidates, counted from both lists
UPSC publishes the roll numbers but never a total. We pulled the text out of both PDFs and counted the roll numbers in each. The two files return the same number, which is the only reason to trust it.
| NDA 1 qualified count | Figure |
|---|---|
| Qualified for SSB | 7,879 candidates qualified for the SSB interview. |
| Male candidates | 7,399 of them are listed under the male heading. |
| Female candidates | 480 women are listed separately at the end. |
| Female share | Women make up 6.1% of everyone called for interview. |
Note: We counted unique roll numbers, identical in both PDFs, and the share is our own arithmetic. The lists went up on 08.05.2026 and 13.05.2026 but are one result in two formats, since both carry the press note of 08.05.2026. Qualifying means an SSB call, not a mark. The final merit uses written and SSB scores together.
The two-week registration deadline in the press note
Paragraph two of the press note carries a deadline, and it does not sit with UPSC at all. Waiting for an email before doing anything gets the order backwards, because the email only comes after you have registered.
| SSB registration | Press note rule |
|---|---|
| Registration deadline | Register at joinindianarmy.nic.in within two weeks of the result. |
| SSB date allotment | The SSB centre and date come by email after registration. |
| Login problems | Write to dir-recruiting6-mod@nic.in for registration or login trouble. |
| Original certificates | Take originals to the SSB, and never send them to UPSC. |
| Army contact | Army first choice candidates can call 011-26175473. |
| Navy contact | Navy candidates can call 011-23010097 or email officer-navy@nic.in. |
| Air Force contact | Air Force candidates can call 011-23010231, extension 7645, 7646 or 7610. |
| UPSC helpline | UPSC answers on 011-23385271, 011-23381125 and 011-23098543. |
Note: Candidates already registered on the Army site need not repeat it. The originals are age and educational qualification certificates. The Navy line also covers the Naval Academy. The UPSC counter is near Gate C and works 10:00 to 17:00 on working days.
Cut-off marks, when they appear and how long they stay
The cut-off does not exist yet for anybody, and the press note says plainly when it will. The same sentence carries a warning about how briefly the marks stay online once they do go up.
| NDA cut-off | Press note rule |
|---|---|
| Cut-off release | Cut-offs are uploaded only after the final result. |
| Online period | They stay on the UPSC website for 30 days only. |
| Where to find | They appear on the UPSC website with recommended candidates’ marks. |
| Re-evaluation | UPSC does not re-evaluate NDA written papers. |
| Final result | It lists recommended candidates in merit order, academy-wise. |
Note: Cut-offs follow the end of the entire NDA and NA (I) 2026 process. The wait runs months, because the final result follows the SSB and medical cycle for the batch. Download the cut-offs the week they appear. A roll number missing from the list is settled for this cycle.
If your roll number is not found in the list
A blank search result has several possible causes and only one of them is a low score. The list is split by gender and runs to dozens of pages, so a hurried search can miss a roll number that is sitting right there.
- Open the roll-wise PDF using the www address, since the bare upsc.gov.in address quietly returns the homepage rather than the file.
- Search the exact seven-digit roll number printed on your e-admit card, not a shortened or partial one.
- Scroll past the male section to the female section if it applies to you, because the two are listed separately rather than merged.
- Check the name-wise PDF as well. It is a different file covering the same 7,879 candidates, and it is easier to search when a roll number is misremembered.
- If the number is in neither file, the written score did not reach the cut-off for this cycle, and there is no re-evaluation to apply for.
| Roll number problem | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Roll number missing | Absent from both PDFs means not qualified this cycle. |
| Link opens homepage | Add www to the address and the PDF loads. |
| No SSB email | The SSB date follows your registration on the Army site. |
| Own marks | Marks are not published for anyone until the final result. |
Note: Check both PDFs and the correct gender section before concluding.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many candidates qualified in the UPSC NDA 1 2026 written result?
7,879. We downloaded both official PDFs and counted the roll numbers, and the roll-wise and name-wise lists contain exactly the same 7,879 unique numbers. Of these 7,399 are male and 480 female, so women are 6.1 per cent of everyone called for SSB. UPSC itself publishes the lists but never states a total.
Is the NDA 1 2026 final result out?
No. Checked on 10.09.2026, the UPSC What's New entry for NDA and NA (I) 2026 Final Result opens with no document attached. The only NDA items live on the board are for NDA and NA (II) 2026, a press note and an e-admit card. The May lists are the written result, which is a different document.
Why does the NDA result PDF link open the UPSC homepage?
Because the address lost its www. A request to upsc.gov.in for these files returns the homepage with a 200 response, so nothing looks broken while nothing downloads. The same paths on www.upsc.gov.in serve the real PDFs, 552 KB for the roll list and 1.1 MB for the name list.
What must a qualified NDA 1 2026 candidate do next?
Register at joinindianarmy.nic.in within two weeks of the written result announcement, as the press note requires. Selection Centre and SSB interview dates are allotted only after that and are sent to the registered email. Age and education originals go to the Selection Board at the SSB, never posted to UPSC.
When will the NDA 1 2026 cut-off marks be published?
Only after the whole NDA and NA (I) 2026 process ends, which means after the final result. The press note also says they will stay on the UPSC website for thirty days and then come down, so they are worth downloading in the week they appear rather than later.
