RRB ALP Fee Refund 2026 – Rs 500 Refund Process

The RRB ALP fee refund 2026 under CEN 01/2026 is not a full refund for most candidates. The notification charges ₹500 and refunds ₹400 of it, less bank charges, to candidates who sit the first-stage CBT. Candidates who paid the concessional ₹250 get that back in full, less bank charges. Nobody gets anything back without attending CBT-1, which the Railway Recruitment Boards have scheduled for 03.11.2026 to 05.11.2026 under a tentative notice of 21.09.2026.

Check your application status first. The Boards finished scrutiny on 25.08.2026 and asked candidates to log in and see whether their application was accepted, conditionally accepted or rejected. A rejected application gets no refund at all, even if the candidate would have sat the exam.

Fee and refund by category

These rules are from para 7.0 of CEN 01/2026. Some pages describe this cycle as a flat ₹500 refund for everyone, which the notification does not say.

The notification never puts the gap as a figure, so here it is. A ₹500 candidate who attends gets back at most ₹400 and loses at least ₹100 plus bank charges. For the ₹250 categories the whole fee comes back, minus bank charges. EBC means Economically Backward Class, and the notification warns candidates not to confuse it with OBC or EWS.

Note: Scrutiny results were released on 25.08.2026. The notification has the fee table at para 7.0 and refund rules at para 7.4. The notice list added the CBT-1 schedule on 21.09.2026 and had no city slip link yet on 03.10.2026. The city slip should open around 24.10.2026, 10 days before the first exam day. Refunds follow CBT-1 attendance, so nothing can be credited before November.

Refund account rules

Para 7.4 decides which account gets the money, and it leaves all the risk with the candidate.

Note: The NPCI linking had to be done before finishing the form. RRB entertains no claim arising from an invalid or inactive linked account.

Before the exam, confirm that the bank account linked with your Aadhaar is still open and active. Under 7.4(d) an account closed or frozen before the refund loses the money, and the notification gives no way to appeal.

If the Boards cancel or cut vacancies

Para 1.13 of the notification says the advertised vacancies are provisional and may rise, fall or even become nil. If the recruitment is cancelled, the fee is refunded only to candidates who have already attended CBT-1. CBT-1 has not been held, so a cancellation now would return nothing to anyone. That is unlikely for 11,127 posts that have already cleared application scrutiny, but it is what the rule says.
