How to download UPSC IAS Prelims 2026 admit card
Visit upsconline.nic.in and follow these steps:
- Go to upsconline.nic.in
- Click on “e-Admit Card: Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2026”
- Log in with your Registration ID or Roll Number
- Enter your Date of Birth and the security code
- Click Submit
- Check every detail on screen before downloading
- Print it out – colour or black and white, both are accepted

Documents to carry on exam day
Carry all three of these without fail:
- Printed admit card – a physical printout is required; the center does not accept soft copies on phones
- Two passport-size photographs – same as the ones uploaded during application
- One government-issued photo ID – Aadhaar, PAN Card, Passport, Voter ID, or Driving License
Items not allowed inside the exam hall
- Mobile phones, earphones, Bluetooth devices
- Calculators, digital watches
- Any electronic device
- Bags, wallets, notebooks
- Books or printed material
Exam day tips
- Reach the center at least 60 minutes before your reporting time – face authentication at the gate takes time
- Candidates who arrive after gates close are not allowed entry
- Read the instructions printed on your admit card the night before
- Keep your admit card after the exam too – it is required again at the Mains stage
