NTA released the exam city intimation slip for UGC NET June 2026 on 10 June. The admit card itself is still pending and normally follows two to three days before each exam date. The exam runs from 22 to 30 June 2026 in CBT mode. Check your city now so you can plan travel early; the slip is not the admit card and will not get you into the centre. Last updated: 11.06.2026.

How to check your exam city

  1. Open the city slip link above.
  2. Log in with your application number and date of birth.
  3. Enter the security pin and submit.
  4. Your allotted exam city appears on screen. Note it down; the exact centre address comes only on the admit card.

If the city allotted is far from home, book travel now. June-end trains and buses fill up quickly, and NTA does not change cities on request.

When will the admit card come?

NTA releases UGC NET admit cards in batches, date-wise: candidates with exams on 22–23 June get theirs first, around 18–19 June, and later dates follow. Your subject’s exam date is in the schedule PDF linked above. The admit card download uses the same login as the city slip.

Exam pattern reminder

UGC NET is a single three-hour CBT session with no break between papers. Paper 1 has 50 questions on teaching and research aptitude, common for everyone. Paper 2 has 100 questions on your chosen subject. Every question carries 2 marks and there is no negative marking, so attempt all 150. Shifts run 9 AM to 12 noon and 3 PM to 6 PM; your shift will be printed on the admit card.

What to carry on exam day

  • Printed admit card with the self-declaration filled
  • One original photo ID: Aadhaar, PAN, voter card, passport or driving licence
  • One passport-size photo, same as uploaded in the application
  • PwD certificate, if applicable

Electronic items, written notes and even rough paper are banned; the centre provides sheets for rough work. Reach the centre by the reporting time on the admit card, not the exam start time — gates close early and NTA does not entertain latecomers.

If you find an error in the admit card

Mismatches in name, photo, subject or category should go to NTA right away through the helpline (011-40759000) or ugcnet@nta.ac.in. Small spelling issues will not stop you from taking the exam, but carry extra ID proof. If your admit card does not download at all even after the batch for your exam date is out, that usually means an application defect — contact NTA before exam day, not at the centre.

The exam is barely two weeks away. The UGC NET June 2026 overview page has the application record and subject list. After the exam, the answer key and scorecard route is covered on the result page, and the cut off page explains the JRF and assistant professor qualifying lines.
