RRC Prayagraj Apprentice 2026 applications have closed, but the correction window is open right now. North Central Railway’s Railway Recruitment Cell issued notification No. RRC/NCR/Act. Apprentice 01/2026 on 07.07.2026, took online applications from 08.07.2026, and after an addendum and an extension finally closed the form on 31.08.2026. Anyone who submitted a complete application by that date can now edit it between 09.09.2026 and 15.09.2026 up to 23:59.
If you applied, note the closing time. Under the Cell’s notice of 07.09.2026, nobody can amend the form after 15.09.2026, the details entered become final, and any error left in them is the candidate’s own responsibility.

Note: The correction notice is in Hindi, carries the 09.09 to 15.09.2026 window and names www.rrcpryj.org itself as the host. Every notice for this cycle is listed together in the Act Apprentice section. The extension notice moved the last date to 31.08.2026. The addendum’s Annexure A carries the unit-wise trade and slot tables. These apprenticeships sit under North Central Railway. The merit list will appear in the Act Apprentice section after the correction window closes and scrutiny finishes.
Slot count after the addendum
The original notification advertised 1,853 slots. The addendum of 14.08.2026 republished the slot tables unit by unit, and the six tables add up to far more than that. The Cell does not print a revised total, so we added the TOTAL row of each unit table in Annexure A ourselves. The figures are below so anyone can check them against the PDF.
| Unit in Annexure A | Slots in its TOTAL row |
|---|---|
| Prayagraj (PRYJ) division | 1,462 |
| Jhansi (JHS) division | 856 |
| Agra (AGC) division | 547 |
| Jhansi workshop | 226 |
| Track machine line, headquarters | 82 |
| Headquarters, NCR Prayagraj | 32 |
| Sum of the six | 3,205, against the 1,853 the 07.07.2026 notification advertised |
Five trades were newly added by that addendum, all in the Engineering Department and covering the Jhansi, Prayagraj and Agra units: Surveyor, Mason for building construction, CAD-CAM Operator cum Programmer, Sanitary Hardware Fitter, and Building Maintenance Technician. The addendum says an online application window for these newly added trades would be provided separately, and it leaves the eligibility rules and conditions of the 07.07.2026 notification unchanged.
Dates, fee and how selection works
There is no written exam. The merit list is built from Class 10 marks and the ITI qualification in the trade, so whatever is in the application decides the result. A typo here costs more than it would in an exam-based recruitment.

Scope of the apprenticeship
An Act Apprentice engagement is a year of training under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Apprentices train at railway establishments, draw a monthly stipend and finish with an NCVT certificate. The seats fill fast mainly because of what comes later, the ex-apprentice quota and preference in Level-1 recruitments by RRC and RRB. The engagement itself carries no promise of a railway job, and the notification does not offer one.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the RRC Prayagraj Apprentice 2026 application still open?
No. The form closed on 31.08.2026 at 23:59, after the notice of 15.08.2026 extended it from the original last date of 07.08.2026.
What is the correction window and when does it close?
09.09.2026 to 15.09.2026 at 23:59, announced by the Cell notice of 07.09.2026. It is open only to candidates who fully submitted an online application by the last date.

From 16.09.2026 no candidate gets any further opportunity to amend the form. The details submitted by 15.09.2026 are treated as final and the candidate alone is responsible for any error left in them, which matters because selection is built from the form data rather than an exam.

The Cell prints no revised grand total itself.
Is there an examination for RRC Prayagraj Apprentice?
No. Selection is a merit list from Class 10 marks and an ITI or National Trade Certificate affiliated to NCVT or SCVT in the relevant trade. The fee was ₹100 for General, OBC and EWS, and nil for SC, ST and all women candidates.
