Note: The result is for the online interview under Advt. 1/RP-CELL/July 2026 and was read on 12.09.2026. Annexure I carries the shortlist with interview dates, and Annexures II and III on the same notice list the accepted-but-not-shortlisted and the rejected applications. The August advertisement, Advt. 1/RP-CELL/August 2026, had 22 positions and closed after a corrigendum, and it is listed for readers looking for the next WII round.

Projects covered by the recruitment

The WII 20 project posts are spread across sea turtle monitoring in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, movement ecology of the Nicobar Megapode, the World Natural Heritage training centre, environmental-flow assessment for the Chambal and Tons rivers, and an assessment of underwater-tunnel construction effects on aquatic life in the Brahmaputra. Field duties may involve remote islands, river surveys, sample collection, GIS work, community interaction or research-station management. Applicants should read the work description for the position, not just the qualification line.

Authenticity check

Rechecked against the WII recruitment listing and the four signed PDFs on 12.09.2026. Advertisement 1/RP-CELL/July 2026 is closed and decided. The successor advertisement, WII/ADVT. 1/RP–CELL/August 2026 of 15.08.2026 covering 22 positions, is closed too: a corrigendum of 31.08.2026 extended its closing date only to 05 September 2026. WII is an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, and these roles are project appointments, not permanent central-government cadre posts.
