The SBI Apprentice 2026 result is out. State Bank of India published the final list of provisionally selected candidates for advertisement CRPD/APPR/2026-27/07 on its careers page, for the online examination held on 11.07.2026. The PDF prints roll numbers only, with no count and no marks. We counted them: 6,867 candidates are provisionally selected against the 7,150 apprentice seats advertised, which leaves 283 seats unfilled. The direct result link is in the Important Links section below.
SBI Apprentice result 2026 current status
The advertisement said results of candidates provisionally qualified for selection would be put on the bank’s own website, and that is where the list has now appeared. The figures below are read straight off that PDF.
| Result question | Official position on 02.09.2026 |
|---|---|
| Is the SBI Apprentice result declared | Yes. The final list of provisionally selected candidates is live on the SBI careers page |
| Which advertisement this covers | CRPD/APPR/2026-27/07, dated 19.05.2026 |
| Online exam held | 11.07.2026, as printed on the result PDF itself |
| Candidates selected | 6,867 roll numbers, counted from the PDF; SBI states no total anywhere |
| Total training seats advertised | 7,150, so 283 seats are unfilled, a fill rate of about 96 per cent |
| What the result PDF contains | Roll numbers in a plain grid only, with no names, no marks and no category split |
How to check SBI Apprentice result 2026
The result is published as a list on the careers section rather than behind a personal login, so most candidates will search the published file for their roll number. Keep the registration number and date of birth handy, since any scorecard or call letter that follows will ask for them.
- Open the SBI careers Current Openings page linked in Important Links below.
- Find the block titled Engagement of Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961.
- Look for a result, merit list or shortlisted candidates link against that advertisement.
- Open the published file and search it for your roll number or registration number.
- Check the state and category heading above your roll number, because merit is drawn separately for each.
- Save or print the page showing your roll number, and note any date given for the local language test.
SBI Apprentice merit list state wise and category wise
A common misunderstanding is that one national cut-off decides everything. It does not. Merit is prepared separately for each state and each category, so the marks needed in one state can differ sharply from another even in the same year.
| Merit list question | What the advertisement lays down |
|---|---|
| How is the merit list drawn | State wise and category wise, not as a single all-India list |
| How are candidates ranked | By aggregate marks in descending order within their state and category |
| Sectional cut-offs | No. There are no minimum qualifying marks for an individual subject |
| Minimum qualifying marks | A minimum aggregate percentage decided by the bank, with 5 per cent relaxation for SC, ST, OBC and PwBD |
| How is a tie at the cut-off broken | Candidates with common marks at the cut-off are ranked by age in descending order |
| Seat distribution across categories | SC 1,107, ST 586, OBC 1,672, EWS 699 and UR 3,086, totalling 7,150 |
SBI Apprentice exam pattern and marking scheme
Understanding the paper helps candidates estimate their aggregate before the official list appears. Each of the four sections is separately timed, and negative marking applies throughout, so an estimate built only on attempted questions will read higher than the real score.
| Section in the written test | Questions, marks and timing |
|---|---|
| General and financial awareness | 25 questions, 25 marks, 15 minutes |
| General English | 25 questions, 25 marks, 15 minutes, in English only |
| Quantitative aptitude | 25 questions, 25 marks, 15 minutes |
| Reasoning ability and computer aptitude | 25 questions, 25 marks, 15 minutes |
| Full paper size and duration | 100 questions for 100 marks in 60 minutes, each section separately timed |
| Negative marking applied | One fourth of the marks assigned to a question is deducted for a wrong answer |
| Language of the paper | English, Hindi and 13 regional languages, except the General English section |
If your name is not in the SBI Apprentice merit list
Not finding a roll number does not always mean rejection, because the published file may cover only one state or one stage. Work through the checks below before concluding anything, and avoid unofficial lists circulating on messaging apps.
| Situation you are facing | What to do about it |
|---|---|
| Roll number not found in the file | Confirm you opened the list for your own state, since merit is state wise |
| You searched the wrong category | Check the category recorded in your application, which cannot be changed later |
| The file will not open | Try again from the official careers page rather than a forwarded copy |
| Your marks look borderline | Remember the quarter-mark penalty, which lowers an estimate based on attempts alone |
| You see a result on another website | Treat it as unverified until the same link appears on the bank’s own website |
| You qualified but missed the language test | The local language test is a separate requirement and must be cleared to stay in the process |
What happens after the SBI Apprentice result
The written test is only the first of two selection filters. Candidates should plan for the language requirement now rather than after the list appears, because it is a pass or fail condition rather than a scoring stage.
| Next stage question | How the advertisement describes it |
|---|---|
| What is the second selection stage | A test of the local language of the state applied for |
| Who must take the language test | Candidates applying against training seats of a state with a specified local language |
| Is the language test scored into merit | It is a qualifying requirement, separate from the written test merit |
| Which language applies to me | The one specified language of the state chosen at the time of online application |
| Can I change my state now | No. The state opted at registration cannot be altered afterwards |

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the SBI Apprentice 2026 result declared?
No. As checked on 22.08.2026, the SBI Current Openings page still shows only the online exam call letter against advertisement CRPD/APPR/2026-27/07, and the bank's separate Recruitment Results page carries no apprentice entry.
Where will the SBI Apprentice result be published first?
On the bank's own website. The advertisement states that results of candidates provisionally qualified for selection will be made available there, so any result appearing elsewhere first should be treated as unverified.
How many SBI Apprentice seats are there in 2026?
7,150 apprentice training seats across states and union territories, distributed as UR 3,086, OBC 1,672, SC 1,107, EWS 699 and ST 586.
How is the SBI Apprentice merit list prepared?
State wise and category wise, not as a single all-India list. Candidates are ranked by aggregate marks in descending order within their own state and category.
Are there sectional cut-offs in the SBI Apprentice exam?
No. There are no minimum qualifying marks for an individual subject. Only a minimum aggregate percentage decided by the bank applies, with 5 per cent relaxation for SC, ST, OBC and PwBD candidates.
What is the SBI Apprentice exam pattern?
100 questions for 100 marks in 60 minutes, made up of four separately timed sections of 25 questions each: general and financial awareness, general English, quantitative aptitude, and reasoning ability with computer aptitude.
Is there negative marking in the SBI Apprentice test?
Yes. One fourth of the marks assigned to a question is deducted for a wrong answer, so a score estimated from attempts alone will read higher than the real aggregate.
What happens after the SBI Apprentice written result?
Shortlisted candidates must take a test of the local language of the state applied for. It is a qualifying requirement rather than a scoring stage, and the state opted at registration cannot be changed later.
How are ties at the SBI Apprentice cut-off broken?
Candidates with common marks at the cut-off are ranked by age in descending order, so the older candidate is placed higher.
What stipend does an SBI apprentice get?
Rs 15,000 per month for a training period of one year. The advertisement states that apprentices are not eligible for any other allowances or benefits.
Does the SBI apprenticeship guarantee a bank job?
No. It is a one-year engagement under the Apprentices Act, 1961, and the engagement itself is provisional. It does not create a claim to regular employment with the bank.
What is the age limit for SBI Apprentice 2026?
Minimum 20 years and maximum 28 years as on 01.04.2026, as stated in advertisement CRPD/APPR/2026-27/07.
