RRB Section Controller 2026 – 119 Posts Apply 🟢 Active

Railway Recruitment Boards have notified Section Controller recruitment under CEN 03/2026 with 119 posts. Online applications open on 15 July 2026 and close on 14 August 2026 on the common rrbapply portal. Any-stream graduates aged 20 to 33 can apply. Last updated: 09.07.2026.

Section Controller is one of the most operationally serious posts RRB recruits for: you sit in the divisional control office and manage live train movement over your section, deciding precedence, crossings and paths in real time. Small vacancy count, high responsibility, and a Level-6 pay start, which makes it a genuinely different track from the mass NTPC posts.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognised university.
• Age 20 to 33 years as on 1 July 2026, with OBC +3 and SC/ST +5 relaxation.
• Medical standard A2 vision fitness applies for this safety-category post; candidates with colour vision issues should read the medical annexure before paying the fee.

Selection process

Computer-based tests followed by document verification and medical examination. The CBT tests general awareness, mathematics, reasoning and general intelligence at graduate level, with the second stage focusing harder on aptitude relevant to train operations. The exact stage structure and syllabus annexure are in the CEN 03/2026 notification on the RRB websites; read the original rather than relying on coaching summaries since this is the first dedicated Section Controller CEN in years and old patterns may not carry over exactly.

How to apply (from 15 July)

1. Go to rrbapply.gov.in, the single application portal for all RRBs.
2. Create your account or log in with existing credentials, complete the common registration.
3. Select CEN 03/2026 (Section Controller), choose ONE RRB zone. You can apply to only one board, and the choice locks.
4. Fill the form, upload photo and signature in RRB specifications, pay the fee, submit and save the PDF.

The RRB Technician CEN 02/2026 (6,565 posts) is open till 29 July for ITI/diploma holders, and RRC Prayagraj Apprentice 2026 (1,853 slots) till 7 August for ITI pass-outs. Graduates aiming at Section Controller can also ride the ongoing RRB NTPC Graduate cycle; the aptitude overlap between the two is heavy.
