The working official application route is the Rajasthan Recruitment Portal. After opening the direct link, click the Ongoing Recruitment tab on the Notice Board. Then find State Eligibility Test (SET) – 2026 and click the Apply button shown against University of Kota. The portal currently shows the closing date as 31-Jul-2026.

Who can apply for Rajasthan SET 2026?

General, unreserved and General-EWS candidates need at least 55% marks in a Master’s degree or an equivalent qualification recognised by the UGC. OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD and third-gender candidates need at least 50%. Final-year postgraduate candidates and applicants awaiting their Master’s result may apply provisionally, but they must complete the qualification with the required marks within two years of the SET result.

Candidates must select the subject of their post-graduation. If their postgraduate subject is not offered in Rajasthan SET, the official notification advises them to consider UGC NET or the relevant CSIR-UGC NET examination. There is no upper age limit. The certificate remains valid for life, but its eligibility is limited to Assistant Professor recruitment within Rajasthan.

The revised Rajasthan SET 2026 notification lists 37 subjects: Chemical Sciences, Commerce, Computer Science and Applications, Earth Sciences, Economics, Education, English, Environmental Sciences, Geography, Hindi, History, Home Science, Law, Life Sciences, Management, Mathematical Sciences, Music, Philosophy, Physical Education, Physical Sciences, Political Science, Population Studies, Psychology, Public Administration, Rajasthani, Sanskrit, Sociology, Urdu, Visual Art, Library and Information Science, Persian, Punjabi, Sindhi, Statistics, Yoga, Mass Communication and Journalism, and Sanskrit Traditional Subjects.

Applicants with a Master’s degree in Geography and a specialisation in Population Studies may choose Population Studies. Check the exact subject code in the official PDF before final submission because the selected subject determines Paper II.

Application fee

The fee is paid online after completing the application on the Rajasthan Recruitment Portal. A submitted form is treated as valid only after an application number is generated, so save the final form and payment receipt.

SET exam pattern and marking scheme

Both papers contain compulsory objective questions and run for three hours without a break. Each correct answer carries two marks, and there is no negative marking. Filling the SET form — registration, subject choice and fee

1. Open the Rajasthan Recruitment Portal and click Ongoing Recruitment on the Notice Board.
2. Click Apply in front of State Eligibility Test (SET) – 2026.
3. Sign in with your SSO ID, then complete One Time Registration and e-KYC if it has not already been done.
4. Choose the correct postgraduate subject and review the pre-filled personal details.
5. Upload the requested photograph, signatures, thumb impression and qualification documents in the prescribed format.
6. Pay the applicable fee, submit the form and confirm that an application number has been generated.
7. Download the completed form and receipt for the admit-card stage.

Before submitting the form

Match your name and date of birth with your identity documents, check the category used in OTR, and verify the subject code. The exam requires the original Aadhaar card along with the admit card.
