Gujarat’s Vhali Dikri Yojana (also written Vahli Dikri Yojana) pays out in stages tied to a girl’s schooling milestones, ending with a lump sum at 18. The figures below are from the Women and Child Development Department's own scheme page, read on 29.09.2026. The application must be made within one year of the daughter's birth. Scheme details and amount
| Vhali Dikri Yojana amount | Official record |
|---|---|
| Scheme name | Vhali Dikri Yojana, Gujarat. |
| Total amount | ₹1,10,000 in all, paid in three stages. |
| Payment stages | ₹4,000 at Class 1, ₹6,000 at Class 9, ₹1,00,000 at age 18. |
| Girls covered | Every daughter among the couple's first three children. |
Note: There is no payment at birth. Registering at birth only starts the claim, and the first money comes at Class 1 admission. The ₹1,00,000 at 18 is for higher studies or marriage.
The department's page settles the figures that vary across other sites. It lists ₹4,000 at Class 1 admission, ₹6,000 at Class 9 admission and ₹1,00,000 at 18, with no birth payment and no ₹10,000 stage. About 91% of the total arrives only at 18, so the scheme mainly rewards keeping a daughter in school and unmarried until then. That share is our arithmetic.

If you’re registering a newborn daughter, do it through your Anganwadi Kendra in the first few months rather than waiting. That keeps you on schedule for every stage payment rather than trying to catch up later.

Confirming the exact amount locally
Government scheme documentation for staged, multi-year payout schemes like this one is often updated between the original notification and later corrigenda, and different government-adjacent websites sometimes lag behind the latest version. Rather than risk giving you a wrong number to plan around, the safest approach is: register through the official portal or your Anganwadi as soon as your daughter is eligible, and let the portal itself confirm your specific payout schedule once your application is processed.
