The Ghaziabad BC Sakhi scheme 2026 status apply update is straightforward: the district invited applications for 45 gram panchayats and the last date was 20.04.2026, so that window is closed. Before the next one opens, the detail worth knowing is that the Rs 75,000 a BC Sakhi receives is not a gift. The notice asks her to consent to taking it as a support fund at 4 per cent annual interest.

Who qualifies for BC Sakhi

Six conditions, and the first one rules out most people who ask about this scheme. It is not open to any rural woman, only to a woman already inside a self help group.

ConditionWhat the notice requires
Self help group membershipYou must be an active member of a women self help group and not a loan defaulter
Age on the cut offBetween 18 and 40 years, counted as on 30 June
EducationAt least 12th pass
Equipment and skillsMust own the required device and know how to use a mobile phone and the internet
Consent on the support fundMust agree to take the Rs 75,000 support fund at 4 per cent annual interest
Where you liveYou must be a resident of the same gram panchayat you would serve

The age is counted on 30 June rather than the application date, so a woman who turns 41 in July of the selection year is still eligible for that cycle. The self help group condition is worth reading twice as well. Being a member is not enough on its own, because the notice asks for an active member who is not a loan defaulter, and both of those are checked against the group own records rather than anything you declare. A woman whose group has lapsed, or who has an overdue group loan in her name, is ruled out at the first step no matter how well she would do the work. If that is your position, the thing to fix is the group standing, and that has to be done before the next notice rather than after it appears, because these windows have run for about a month at a time.

The Rs 75,000 is a loan at 4 per cent, not a grant

This is the line most summaries of the scheme drop, and it is the one that decides whether the work is worth taking on.

About the moneyWhat the notice says
AmountRs 75,000 given as a support fund by the state rural livelihood mission
Interest4 per cent a year, and consent to that rate is an eligibility condition
What it is forSetting up the banking point, including the device needed to work
How you earn after thatCommission on transactions, not a fixed salary from the district
What that meansIncome depends on how many people in your panchayat actually bank through you

What BC Sakhis across UP actually earn

Since the pay is commission based, the state level record is the only honest guide to what the work returns. These are the figures the mission publishes on its own dashboard.

Statewide recordFigure published by the mission
BC Sakhis certified by IIBF50,125 across Uttar Pradesh
Actually working39,890, so about four in five of those certified
Transactions handled16.90 crore transactions recorded
Money moved through themRs 4.58 lakh crore in total transaction value
Total commission earnedRs 125.52 crore paid out as commission
Highest earned by one BC SakhiRs 27,01,795, the single best performer on record

Read the last two rows together. Rs 125.52 crore spread over 39,890 working BC Sakhis averages a little over Rs 31,000 each since the scheme began, while the best performer has earned Rs 27 lakh. The gap is the point: this is a business, and what you earn tracks how much banking your village actually does through you rather than how long you hold the post.

Number of customers one BC Sakhi actually serves

The mission publishes its own reading of the model, and it explains why two BC Sakhis in neighbouring panchayats can earn very different amounts.

What decides your incomeWhat the mission own analysis says
Customers in one panchayatEstimated 500 to 1,000 banking customers in an average UP gram panchayat
One post per panchayatOnly one BC Sakhi is deployed per gram panchayat, so there is no competition inside it
Panchayat size in UPSmaller than in Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand or Odisha, so each has fewer customers
What drives earningsThe number of transactions you handle and the average value of each one
Why growth slowsThe mission attributes it to a panchayat saturating its limited pool of banking customers

Two numbers on the mission dashboard are worth putting side by side before you apply. 50,125 women have been certified by IIBF and 39,890 are actually operating, so roughly one in five who cleared the certification is not running a banking point today. Nobody publishes why each one stopped, but a commission based income in a panchayat of 500 customers is the obvious place to look, and it is a fairer thing to weigh up before applying than after.

What a BC Sakhi does in the village

The notice describes the role in plain terms, and it is wider than cash withdrawal alone.

Part of the workWhat it involves
Banking at the doorstepDeposits, withdrawals and account services through a micro ATM or handheld device
Who it servesVillagers who would otherwise travel to a branch in the nearest town
Why it was set upRBI guidelines on engaging banking correspondents in rural areas
Effect on the villageMoney stays in the local banking system instead of moving as cash
Villages one coversOne BC Sakhi is meant to serve her own gram panchayat

Applying through the RISHTA app

Ghaziabad ran this round on paper through the block office, but the mission also runs a mobile app route, and it is worth knowing which one is open when a notice appears.

About the app routeDetail from the mission technology page
App nameRISHTA, approved by UPSRLM for registered candidates to submit applications
Why it was builtTo collect applications for the gram panchayats where none had come in
Scale of that gap3,534 gram panchayats across the state had received no applications
Residence ruleSame as the Ghaziabad notice. You may only apply for the panchayat you live in
App usage7,71,967 cumulative users and about 1.4 crore screen views

That 3,534 figure is the one to hold on to if you are weighing your chances. Across Uttar Pradesh there are panchayats where nobody applied at all, which is a very different situation from the competition candidates usually assume.

Applying when the next notice comes

The route runs through your group, not directly to the district office.

  1. Confirm your self help group is active and that you are not marked a loan defaulter.
  2. Apply with the support of your group, which forwards the application to the gram sangathan.
  3. The gram sangathan sends it through the block office to the block mission management unit.
  4. The cluster level federation puts together the consolidated list for the district.
  5. Selection is by written test and interview before a committee chaired by the Chief Development Officer.

Because the selection ends in a written test and an interview, being the only applicant from your panchayat does not by itself get you the post. It is also worth knowing that certification comes after selection rather than before it. The mission counts women certified by the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance separately from those actually operating a banking point, which is why its own dashboard shows 50,125 against 39,890. Passing that certification is the step between being selected in your panchayat and being able to handle transactions.

If your name is not selected

Two situations that get mixed up when a list is announced.

Meaning of this listingWhat it means
Not in the final listThe committee selects on the written test and interview together, so a valid application is not enough on its own
Application never forwardedCheck with your gram sangathan. Applications move through the group, and one that stops there never reaches the block
Panchayat not on the listOnly panchayats with a vacant post were included. Ghaziabad listed 45
Selected but no deviceThe support fund and device come after selection, through the mission rather than the bank

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Ghaziabad BC Sakhi application still open?

No. The district notice set 20.04.2026 as the last date for the 45 gram panchayats it covered, and no fresh notice has appeared on the district notice page as of 29.08.2026.

Is the Rs 75,000 given to a BC Sakhi free?

No. The notice makes it an eligibility condition that the applicant consents to receive the Rs 75,000 support fund at 4 per cent annual interest, so it is a loan rather than a grant.

Can any rural woman apply for BC Sakhi?

How much does a BC Sakhi earn?

There is no fixed salary. Earnings come from transaction commission. The mission reports Rs 125.52 crore of commission earned across 39,890 working BC Sakhis, and Rs 27,01,795 by its single highest earner.

How is the final selection made?

By a committee chaired by the Chief Development Officer, on the basis of a written test and an interview, after the application travels from the self help group through the gram sangathan and the block mission management unit.
