IBPS SO XVI 2026 admit card is out. IBPS activated the online preliminary exam call letter for CRP SPL-XVI on 20.08.2026, along with the information handout and scribe guidelines. Yes. IBPS opened the preliminary call letter download on 20.08.2026 for all Specialist Officer posts under CRP SPL-XVI. The commission does not announce individual exam dates on its website, so the call letter is the only official source for your slot.

IBPS SO prelims exam pattern and marks 2026

The preliminary paper differs by post, which is why two candidates can sit the same exam with different sections. Both versions run 100 questions for 125 marks with a separate 20-minute limit on each section, so unused time cannot be carried forward.

Note: Each test has 25 questions, and Professional Knowledge carries 2 marks a question. The banking test is General Awareness with special reference to Banking. Shortlisted candidates go to the mains.

Admit card download and printing

Use the call letter login page linked in the Important Links section. Keep both the call letter and the information handout, because the handout carries the exam-day instructions that are not repeated on the call letter.

1. Open the CRP SPL-XVI online preliminary exam call letter login page on the IBPS portal.
2. Enter your registration number or roll number along with your password or date of birth.
3. Check that your name, photograph, post applied for, exam date, reporting time and centre address are all printed correctly.
4. Download the call letter and take a colour printout on A4 paper.
5. Download the information handout separately and read the exam-day instructions before you travel.
6. If any detail on the call letter is wrong, raise it with IBPS through the grievance portal well before the exam date.

Qualifying Marks vs Cut Off

Qualifying marks are the bare minimum marks IBPS sets for each category in each section, while the cut off is the actual score needed to make it to the next stage, which is usually well above the qualifying marks once competition is factored in. Clearing the qualifying marks alone does not guarantee you move ahead; you need to clear the overall cut off too.

The prelims stage differs slightly depending on your stream. For IT Officer, Agricultural Field Officer and HR/Personnel Officer, the pattern is:

For Law Officer and Rajbhasha Adhikari, Quantitative Aptitude is replaced by General Awareness with a banking focus, and Professional Knowledge becomes the Specialized Subject paper:

Each section has its own 20-minute time limit, and prelims marks only qualify you for the mains. They don’t get added to your final score.

Marking Scheme

Each question carries the marks shown above, and there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer in both prelims and mains. There is no penalty for questions left unattempted.
