PM Kisan installment status is available on the official portal. The 23rd instalment was
released on 20 June 2026 and, checked again on 12.09.2026, it is still the latest one: no date has been
announced for the 24th. This PM Kisan Samman Nidhi 2026 6000 yearly status check guide explains
beneficiary status and eKYC, and covers the reason a good many farmers are not being paid at all right now,
which is the Department’s own withholding of suspected exclusion cases pending physical verification.

For eligibility, exclusion categories, required documents and new registration, see our separate PM Kisan Samman Nidhi eligibility and registration guide.

Amount Per FarmerRs. 2,000
Total Amount DisbursedOver Rs. 18,880 crore
Beneficiaries CoveredMore than 9.44 crore farmer families
Covers PeriodApril – July 2026
24th InstalmentStill not dated. Rechecked on 12.09.2026: the portal’s own banner names the 23rd instalment of 20 June 2026 as the latest release, and no 24th-instalment date appears anywhere on it
Why a payment can stop even when status says approvedThe Department has flagged suspected exclusion cases and temporarily withheld their benefit until physical verification. The two examples it names are land ownership acquired after 01.02.2019, and more than one member of the same family drawing the benefit, such as husband and wife, or an adult and a minor
Action for that groupCheck your own eligibility against the exclusion criteria in the scheme guidelines rather than waiting for the next release date. A withheld case is not a failed transaction and will not clear itself when the next instalment is paid

Checking PM Kisan Beneficiary Status

The official status-check page currently works off your registration number rather than Aadhaar or mobile number directly, so have that ready first.

  1. Visit the official PM-KISAN portal and open the Beneficiary Status page.
  2. Enter your Registration Number in the field provided.
  3. Complete the captcha shown on screen.
  4. An OTP is sent to your eKYC-registered mobile number. Enter it to proceed.
  5. Your status page will show bank name, payment status, UTR number, payment mode, and credit confirmation with date.

Don’t have your registration number handy? Use the “Know Your Registration Number” link on the same page, which looks your record up using your Aadhaar number or mobile number instead.

The portal switched to this registration-number-first flow after earlier versions relied purely on Aadhaar or mobile lookups, which occasionally pulled up the wrong record for farmers sharing a household mobile number. If you’ve bookmarked an old status-check link from a previous instalment cycle and it looks different from what’s described here, that’s why. Always use the current Beneficiary Status page rather than a saved link from months ago, since the government does update the portal’s flow periodically.

The PM-KISAN mobile app mirrors the same status information and is often quicker on a phone, especially in areas with slower broadband. Both the website and the app pull from the same backend database, so there’s no advantage to checking both. Pick whichever is more convenient and stick with it.

If Your Name Is Missing or Status Shows Pending

A missing name or a stuck “pending” status usually falls into one of a few known patterns, not a random glitch. It helps to work through these in order rather than jumping straight to a grievance ticket, since most of them are things you can check or fix yourself in a few minutes.

Status shownLikely ReasonWhat To Do
Registration not found at allApplication never completed, or was submitted under a different Aadhaar/mobile combinationRecheck via “Know Your Registration Number”; re-register if genuinely never submitted
Status shows “eKYC Pending”eKYC not completed, or completed less than 24 hours agoComplete eKYC via any of the 3 methods below; recheck after 24 hours
Payment on hold (under verification)Land recorded after 1 February 2019, or multiple family members claiming benefitRespond to your State Nodal Officer’s verification request promptly; benefit resumes once cleared
Application rejectedFalls under an exclusion category, or land/bank details don’t match recordsCheck the exact rejection reason on the status page; corrections can be raised through your local revenue office

How to Complete PM Kisan eKYC – All 3 Official Methods

Without completed eKYC, no instalment reaches your account. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve already been receiving payments. There are exactly three official ways to do it, and all three are free except the biometric option’s small convenience fee.

MethodWhereStepsCost
OTP-basedPM-KISAN portal or mobile appClick “e-KYC” (top right of the website), enter your Aadhaar number, submit the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobileFree
Biometric-basedCommon Service Centre (CSC) or State Seva Kendra (SSK)Visit with your Aadhaar card and linked mobile number; the operator completes fingerprint or iris verification for youRs. 15 convenience fee
Face authenticationPM-KISAN mobile app + Aadhaar Face RD appLog in with your registered mobile number, open your beneficiary status page, tap eKYC if it shows “No”, enter Aadhaar number and scan your faceFree

Whichever method you use, the update takes up to 24 hours to reflect in your beneficiary status. Checking again five minutes later will still show the old status, so don’t assume it failed. You can locate your nearest CSC through the official CSC locator if you’d rather have the biometric option done for you.

Which method should you actually pick? If you have a smartphone and a working Aadhaar-linked mobile number, OTP-based eKYC on the portal is the fastest: it takes a couple of minutes and costs nothing. Face-authentication through the app is a close second and is genuinely useful if your Aadhaar-linked number is currently unreachable (say, the SIM is lost) since it relies on your face rather than an OTP. Biometric eKYC at a CSC is the fallback for farmers without a smartphone or reliable data connection at all. The small Rs. 15 fee covers the operator’s time, not a government charge.

One genuinely common mistake: attempting eKYC with an Aadhaar number that isn’t linked to the mobile number you’re using for OTP. The system has no way to send an OTP to an unlinked number, so the request simply fails silently or times out. If OTP-based eKYC keeps failing without a clear error, that mismatch is worth checking first before assuming there’s a portal problem.

It’s also worth knowing that eKYC is a one-time requirement per Aadhaar record, not something you repeat every instalment cycle. Once your status page shows eKYC as done, it stays done unless something on the backend resets it, which does occasionally happen after a mobile number change is processed by UIDAI. If a previously-completed eKYC suddenly shows as pending again, a recent SIM or mobile-number update is the most likely cause, not a data loss on the PM-KISAN side.

PM Kisan Installment History

InstalmentPeriodStatus
21stDecember 2025 – March 2026Released
22ndApril – July 2026 (early cycle)Released
23rdApril – July 2026Released 20.06.2026
24thAugust – November 2026 (expected)Not officially announced as of 31.07.2026

Your own full instalment-by-instalment history, including exact credit dates and UTR numbers, is available on your Beneficiary Status page after logging your registration number, not on this general table. For scale, the scheme has disbursed a cumulative total of over Rs. 4.09 lakh crore across its first 21 instalments since December 2018, which gives a sense of why the government treats eKYC compliance and land-record verification so strictly. A program moving this much money on autopilot has to lean on automated checks rather than manual review of every single case.

If you notice a gap in your own history, say instalment 21 shows credited but 22 shows nothing, that’s usually either an eKYC lapse that happened between the two cycles, or a verification hold that started after instalment 21 was already processed. Both are visible on your own status page even if this general table can’t show them, since they’re specific to your record, not the scheme-wide schedule.

Common Rejection and Exclusion Reasons

If your status shows “rejected” rather than “pending,” it usually traces back to the scheme’s exclusion list rather than a data error. See our full PM Kisan eligibility and exclusion criteria guide for the complete list, including institutional landholders, government employees, income taxpayers and licensed professionals.

Status or reasonWhat it usually meansNext step
Excluded categoryA family member falls under an official exclusion categoryCheck the exclusion list and raise a correction request with supporting records if the entry is wrong
Land record mismatchOwnership, land date or revenue details do not match the state recordContact the local revenue office or State Nodal Officer for record correction
Income-tax flagThe system records income tax paid in the relevant assessment yearReview the tax record and submit evidence through the prescribed grievance channel
Government-service or pension flagEmployment or pension details match an excluded categoryAsk the concerned department or nodal officer to review an incorrect entry

A rejection is not always final. If you believe your family genuinely qualifies and the rejection is based on outdated information (for instance, you retired from a government post several years ago and no longer draw a qualifying pension, or your income tax filing status has since changed), you can raise a correction request through your local revenue office or State Nodal Officer with supporting documents. The record gets re-evaluated rather than permanently locked, though it does take another verification cycle to clear.

Avoiding PM Kisan Payment Delays Next Cycle

Most delays are avoidable with a few minutes of upkeep between instalments, rather than something that needs fixing after a payment is already missed.

Points to checkWhy It Matters
eKYC still marked “Yes”eKYC doesn’t need to be repeated once done, but confirm it hasn’t been reset after a mobile number change
Mobile number still Aadhaar-linkedA changed or deactivated SIM breaks OTP-based status checks and eKYC alike
Bank account still activeA closed or dormant account will bounce the DBT credit even if everything else is correct
No pending land-record disputesAny open verification flag from a previous cycle carries over and holds the next instalment too

PM Kisan Grievance – What to Do If Payment Is Stuck

ChannelBest For
Online grievance portal (24×7)Any payment or status issue; gives a tracking reference number
State Nodal OfficerLand-record disputes and verification holds specific to your district
Kisan e-Mitra chatbotQuick answers to common status/eKYC questions on the official portal

Never share your Aadhaar number, OTP or bank details with anyone claiming to “speed up” your PM Kisan payment outside the official portal. This is a common scam pattern, and PM-KISAN never asks for money to release a payment. The only legitimate charge anywhere in this process is the Rs. 15 CSC convenience fee for biometric eKYC, and even that is paid at the centre itself, not to an individual agent over phone or WhatsApp.

When you do raise a grievance, include your registration number, the instalment or eKYC issue you’re facing, and roughly when you first noticed it. Vague complaints without a registration number take noticeably longer to resolve, since the support desk has to first identify your record before they can even look at the actual issue.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the latest PM Kisan installment as of now?

The 23rd installment, released on 20 June 2026 from Tarakeswar, Hooghly (West Bengal), transferring over Rs. 18,880 crore to more than 9.44 crore farmer families. As of 31 July 2026, no date has been officially announced for the 24th installment.

How do I check my PM Kisan beneficiary status?

Go to the official portal's Beneficiary Status page, enter your registration number, complete the captcha, and verify with the OTP sent to your eKYC-registered mobile number. If you don't have your registration number, use the 'Know Your Registration Number' link on the same page first.

Why does my PM Kisan status show 'eKYC pending'?

It means your eKYC hasn't been completed or hasn't been verified yet. Payments are automatically withheld until eKYC shows as done, regardless of how long you've already been receiving instalments.

How long does it take for eKYC to reflect in my status after I complete it?

Up to 24 hours, regardless of which of the three eKYC methods you used. Check again the next day rather than repeating the process immediately.

What are the three ways to do PM Kisan eKYC?

OTP-based eKYC on the portal or mobile app, biometric eKYC at a Common Service Centre or State Seva Kendra (Rs. 15 convenience fee), and face-authentication eKYC through the PM-KISAN mobile app with the Aadhaar Face RD app.

Is there a fee for PM Kisan eKYC?

OTP-based and face-authentication eKYC are free. Biometric eKYC done at a Common Service Centre carries a Rs. 15 convenience fee.

My name is missing from the PM Kisan beneficiary list — what do I do?

First confirm your registration went through by checking with your Aadhaar or mobile number via 'Know Your Registration Number'. If it genuinely isn't there, your application may still be under state-level verification, or it may have been rejected — check the rejection reason on the status page and contact your State Nodal Officer if it's unclear.

Why is my PM Kisan payment on hold even though I'm eligible?

The two most common reasons for a temporary hold are land recorded in your name after 1 February 2019, or more than one member of the same family separately claiming the benefit — both trigger a physical verification hold until cleared.

How can I see my complete PM Kisan installment history?

The Beneficiary Status page on the official portal shows your full payment history, including UTR numbers, payment mode, and credit dates for every instalment you've received.

What should I do if my PM Kisan payment is delayed beyond the usual window?

Raise it through the official 24x7 online grievance portal, which gives you a tracking reference number, or contact your State Nodal Officer for land-record or verification-specific delays.

Can I check PM Kisan status without a Farmer ID?

Yes, existing beneficiaries can check status using their registration number regardless of Farmer ID. Farmer ID only affects new registrations in states where the farmer registry has started.
