CTET September 2026 will now be held on 12 and 13 December 2026. CBSE deferred the 22nd edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test from 6 September, and its public notice of 14.09.2026 fixed the new dates. Applications first ran 11.05.2026 to 10.06.2026, then reopened 25.08.2026 to 01.09.2026 after a Supreme Court direction, and the correction window closed on 10.09.2026.

Nothing is open to apply for right now. If you applied in either window your form stands. The next step is the exam city slip, which CBSE says will be on the CTET portal 15 days before the exam, so from about 27 November 2026. The admit card follows two days before the exam. Last updated: 23.09.2026.

23.09.2026: Checked ctet.nic.in. The notice of 14.09.2026 is still the latest, and no exam city slip is out yet, which fits CBSE’s own timeline of 15 days before the exam.
14.09.2026: CBSE fixed the 22nd edition of CTET for 12 and 13 December 2026 in a public notice dated 14.09.2026. Each candidate’s exam city and date will go up on the CTET portal 15 days before the exam, and the admit card two days before it.
11.09.2026: Checked ctet.nic.in. The correction window has closed and no revised exam date has been put up. The most recent public notice on the site is still the correction notice of 07.09.2026.
07.09.2026: CBSE opened an online correction window from 07.09.2026 to 10.09.2026, covering candidates from both application windows. The notice states no correction will be allowed after 10.09.2026 under any circumstances.
25.08.2026: CBSE reopened the application portal from 25.08.2026 to 01.09.2026 for candidates who missed the first window, citing the Supreme Court judgment in Review Petition (Civil) Diary No. 53434/2025 in Civil Appeal No. 1385/2025. The same notice said the revised exam date would be announced after the portal closed, which is when 6 September stopped being the exam date.
16.08.2026: This exam’s syllabus is now available, covered on the CTET previous year question paper page.

Previous edition resultThe CTET 21st edition result came on 30.03.2026.

Note: No correction is allowed after 10.09.2026. The notice gives the city-slip rule, not the date, so 27.11.2026 is our own count. The admit card date is about 10.12.2026 for a 12 December slot and 11.12.2026 for 13 December. The 21st edition was held on 7 and 8 February and its result came about seven weeks later.

One detail that turned out to matter. CBSE’s correction notice of 07.09.2026 already carried the file number CBSE/CTET/December-2026, while the reopening notice of 25.08.2026 used CBSE/CTET/Sept./2026. A file reference is not an announcement, so this page waited for a dated notice, and the notice of 14.09.2026 duly put the exam in December.
