Indian Army TES 56 2026 recruitment for 90 officer posts is closed. The form was open from 13 May to 12 June 2026 and cost nothing to submit. Shortlisting runs on the JEE Main 2026 rank alone, then the SSB interview and the medical board. Anyone already in the pipeline is now waiting on SSB for the January 2027 course.
Cut off, JEE Main rank and expected cut off
No marks-based cut off is ever released for this entry. That is why a search for a cut off PDF turns up nothing official, and why the figures circulating elsewhere are estimates rather than published numbers.
| Army TES 56 cut off | What decides it |
|---|---|
| Cut off PDF | No cut off PDF is issued for this scheme. |
| Cut off rank | It is based on the JEE Main 2026 common rank list. |
| Expected cut off | It changes each cycle with how many high rankers apply for 90 posts. |
| Cut off date | No date is published, you learn through an SSB call on the portal. |
| Qualifying marks | 60 per cent in PCM is a pass bar, not a ranking input. |

Officer cadet training course, full details
An earlier version of this page said training runs five years at CME Pune with the degree at the end. Two Defence Ministry releases show that is wrong twice over, and the gap matters, because it decides when a cadet becomes an officer.
| Army TES training | Defence Ministry record |
|---|---|
| Training place | One year of basic training at OTA Gaya. |
| TES college | CME Pune, MCTE Mhow or MCEME Secunderabad, chosen by the Army. |
| Course duration | Five years, with commission after four. |
| B.Tech degree | It is completed a year after commissioning. |
| Officer rank | Lieutenant on a Permanent Commission. |
Eligibility criteria, age limit and height
These are the conditions the closed cycle ran on, and the ones the next course is likely to repeat.
| Army TES 56 eligibility | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Qualification | Class 12 with 60 per cent in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. |
| JEE Main | You must have appeared in JEE Main 2026. |
| Age limit | 16 years 6 months to 19 years 6 months on 01 January 2027. |
| Who can apply | Unmarried men only, and they must stay unmarried in training. |
| Height and physical | No separate test, the medical board checks height, weight and vision. |
Official website and how to check status
Links saved earlier in this cycle no longer land where they used to. The portal also answers a moved address with an ordinary page instead of an error, so a dead link still looks alive.
- Open the recruitment portal from its home address rather than a saved deep link, and clear the text verification prompt the site shows on entry.
- Use the officer entry login rather than the Common Entrance Exam banner on the landing page. That banner covers Agniveer, JCO and Sepoy recruitment and is unrelated to this scheme.
- Sign in to the candidate account used for the application. Shortlist and SSB communication for this entry goes to that account, not to a public list.
- Treat a page that loads but says the address has moved as a dead link. The portal answers such addresses with a normal page rather than an error code, so a link that appears to work may still carry nothing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I still apply for Indian Army TES 56 2026?
No. The window ran 13 May to 12 June 2026 and closed without an extension. The next opportunity is the following TES course, usually notified around May.
Is there an official TES 56 cut off list?
No marks-based cut off document is released. Shortlisting is done on the JEE Main 2026 All India Common Rank List, so the effective bar is a rank, not a marks figure.
How long is the training before I become an officer?
Four years. One year of basic military training at OTA Gaya, then three years at a Cadets Training Wing, after which cadets are commissioned at the passing out parade.
When do I get the engineering degree?
A year after commissioning. Defence Ministry records show newly commissioned officers stay at the college for a fifth year to finish the final year of the degree.
Which engineering college will I be sent to?
One of three, allotted by the Army: College of Military Engineering Pune, Military College of Telecommunication Engineering Mhow, or MCEME Secunderabad.
Why does the old Apply Online link not open the TES page?
That address now serves the Online Common Entrance Exam 2026 notice for Agniveer, JCO and Sepoy categories. Open the portal from its home address and use officer entry login instead.
