UP primary teacher 2026 apply online started on 16.09.2026 and closes on 15.10.2026. Advertisement No. 05/2026 of the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has 12,405 posts in two separate cadres. There are 11,508 Assistant Teacher posts in urban primary schools of the Basic Shiksha Parishad, and 897 Assistant Teacher (attached primary) posts in government-aided secondary schools. The written exam is on 03 and 04 December 2026.

The 40-year upper age limit covers only the 11,508 urban posts. For the 897 aided-school posts the notice sets a minimum age of 21 and no maximum. The only cap is the post’s retirement age of 62. A candidate over 40 who has a TET for classes 1 to 5 can still apply for that cadre.
