Who this exam is actually for
This is the part that decides whether the rest of the page matters to you. The test exists because of a Supreme Court order, and the rulebook is explicit about its limits.
| Question | What the rulebook states |
|---|---|
| Who can appear | Primary-level teachers already serving in government schools — Sahayak Shikshak, Prathmik Shikshak, Sahayak Adhyapak, Samvida Shala Shikshak Varg 3, Prayogshala Sahayak and the science variants — who have not passed the eligibility test held under the Right to Education Act. |
| Private school teachers | Teachers teaching primary classes in non-government schools who have not passed the eligibility test may also appear. |
| Can freshers apply for a teaching job through this | No. The rulebook says this special eligibility test is held for in-service teachers under the Supreme Court order, and its eligibility or result will not be valid for appointment by direct recruitment to a government teacher post in future. |
| Why the exam exists | It follows the order dated 01 September 2025 passed by the Supreme Court in Civil Appeal 1385/2025 and 1386/2025. |
| Conducting body | Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board, Bhopal, with the rulebook signed by the Additional Directors of Public Instruction and Tribal Affairs. |
MP TET 2026 important dates
The correction window here is unusual — it opens on the same day as the form and stays open five days past the closing date.
| Date question | Official date |
|---|---|
| Application form start date | 21-08-2026, the day the online form opened on the MP Online portal. |
| MP TET last date to apply | 04-09-2026 for submitting the online application form. |
| Correction window | Opens 21-08-2026 alongside the form and closes 09-09-2026, five days after the form itself shuts. |
| MSPSTET exam date | 12-10-2026, a Monday, and the rulebook says the exam begins from that date rather than being confined to it. |
MSPSTET application fee — it is charged per paper
Most listings quote a single figure. The rulebook charges the examination fee for each question paper, so a teacher appearing for two papers pays twice, and the portal charge depends on how you fill the form.
| Charge | Amount as printed |
|---|---|
| Examination fee | ₹1,000 per question paper, and the same amount applies to applicants of all categories and cadres. |
| Portal charge if you use a kiosk | ₹60 payable to MP Online for candidates filling the form through a kiosk. |
| Portal charge if you log in yourself | ₹20 payable when filling the form after logging in as a registered citizen user. |
| Practical effect | A single paper through a kiosk costs ₹1,060 in total, while filling it yourself as a registered user costs ₹1,020. |
MP TET qualifying marks by category
The pass mark is set by category and is the only thing that decides whether you qualify, since there is no merit list for appointment attached to this test.
| Which category are you | Minimum qualifying percentage |
|---|---|
| SC, ST, OBC, Divyang and EWS | 50 per cent minimum marks to be declared qualified in the teacher eligibility test. |
| All other candidates | 60 per cent minimum marks, a full ten percentage points higher. |
| Exam scheme and syllabus | Attached separately with the rulebook rather than printed in the main conditions. |
| Exam centres | Decided by the Employees Selection Board, Bhopal, and communicated on the admit card. |
Exam day timing and the two shifts
Reporting closes well before the paper starts and late entry is refused outright, so the reporting window matters more than the exam time.
| Shift detail | Timing on exam day |
|---|---|
| First shift reporting | 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM, with instructions read from 9:50 AM to 10:00 AM. |
| First shift paper | 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, a duration of two and a half hours. |
| Second shift reporting | 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with instructions read from 2:50 PM to 3:00 PM. |
| Second shift paper | 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM, again two and a half hours. |
| Late arrival | Entry is allowed only until the reporting time. Candidates arriving later are not permitted to sit the exam. |
| Leaving early | No candidate may leave the exam room between the start and the end of the paper. |
Aadhaar and identity rules that turn candidates away
These are the practical failures that cost people the exam on the day, and each one is stated in the rulebook rather than being a local practice.
| Requirement | What the rulebook says |
|---|---|
| Aadhaar must be unlocked | Aadhaar has to be in an unlocked state at the time of biometric verification. This is printed in bold in the rulebook. |
| Aadhaar registration | Aadhaar registration of the candidate is compulsory for this examination. |
| Original photo ID | One original photo identity document is compulsory — voter ID, PAN card, Aadhaar, driving licence or passport. An e-Aadhaar counts only if verified by UIDAI. |
| Consequence of not carrying it | A candidate without an original photo identity document is refused entry to the examination. |
| Biometric verification | Multi-level biometric verification is compulsory both at entry and during the examination. |
| Banned in the exam room | Mobile phones, calculators, log tables, digital watches, sunglasses and any copying material are completely prohibited. |
| What to carry | A black ball point pen and the admit card downloaded from the Board’s website. |
How to apply for MP TET 2026 MSPSTET online
Applications go through the MP Online portal linked from the Board’s own website. Links are in the Important Links table at the end.
- Open the MPESB examinations list on the MP Online portal and select the eligibility test for teachers teaching in primary and secondary classes.
- Read the official rulebook before filling anything, since the eligibility condition is about your current service, not your qualifications alone.
- Fill the online form and choose the question paper or papers you are appearing for, remembering the fee applies to each paper.
- Pay the examination fee along with the MP Online portal charge, which differs between a kiosk and your own registered login.
- Save the application number carefully, because the admit card can only be obtained using it.
- Use the correction facility up to 09-09-2026 if any detail needs fixing.
- Download the admit card from the Board’s website before the exam and carry it with an original photo identity document.
One caution the Board prints plainly: no certificate is checked by the Board when you apply. Verification is done by the concerned department during the appointment process, so your eligibility in this computer-based examination is entirely provisional.
