Merit List & Selection
CIL prepares a discipline-wise merit list based on CBT scores. Candidates above the qualifying marks in both papers and ranked within the vacancy count will be provisionally selected. There is no interview — the merit list is the final selection list.
In case of a tie in marks, CIL follows this tie-breaking order: higher marks in Paper II, then higher marks in Paper I, then date of birth (older candidate gets preference).
After the Result – What Next
- Selected candidates receive a provisional appointment letter via email and on the portal
- Document verification is conducted at the designated CIL subsidiary (BCCL, ECL, CCL, WCL, SECL, MCL, or NLC)
- Medical fitness test at CIL’s medical centre
- 1-year training period as Management Trainee before confirmation as Assistant Manager
