Bihar Police Sub-ordinate Services Commission has opened Sub Inspector (SI) recruitment 2026 under Advt No. 09/2026: 150 posts in the Bihar Police SI cadre. Online applications started on 9 July 2026 and close on 9 August 2026. Any-stream graduates can apply, and the fee is a flat ₹100 for every category. Last updated: 09.07.2026.

Daroga recruitment is the most tracked police exam in Bihar, and this cycle’s count of 150 is smaller than the 1,275-post round of 2023, which means cut-offs will run high. Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognised university, completed by the notification’s cut-off date.
• Age: men 20 to 37 years, women 20 to 40 years (Bihar domicile rules and category relaxations per the notification).
• Physical standards: height 165 cm for men (relaxed for reserved categories as notified) and 155 cm for women; chest 81-86 cm for men.
• Physical test: 1.6 km run in 6 minutes 30 seconds for men; 1 km in 6 minutes for women; plus long jump and shot put as per the advertisement.

Selection process

Four stages. Prelims: 200 marks objective paper on general knowledge and current affairs, qualifying at 30 percent, and roughly twenty times the vacancy count advances. Mains: two papers, General Hindi (qualifying) and a GK/GS paper with maths, reasoning and civics; negative marking of 0.2 applies. Then the Physical Eligibility Test on the standards above, and finally document verification and medical. Final merit comes from the mains written score of PET-qualified candidates.
