IAF Medical Assistant 2026 – Apply by 26 July 🟢 Active

Indian Air Force is recruiting Airmen Group Y Medical Assistant under Intake 02/2027. Applications opened on 6 July and close on 26 July 2026, with the online exam on 22-23 September 2026. This is a separate trade-specific entry alongside the main Agniveervayu intake, meant for candidates with a PCB (biology) background or pharmacy qualifications. Last updated: 09.07.2026.

Medical Assistants work in IAF hospitals and station medical centres handling nursing assistance, dispensary work, first aid and medical documentation. If you have biology in 12th or a pharmacy diploma and want a defence uniform without an NEET score, this trade is the direct route.

Eligibility — two routes

Route 1: 10+2 PCB

• Intermediate with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English, minimum 50 percent aggregate and 50 percent in English.
• Unmarried, born between 01.01.2006 and 01.01.2010 (upper age 21).

Route 2: Pharmacy qualified

• Diploma in Pharmacy or B.Sc/B.Pharm with minimum 50 percent, plus valid registration with a State Pharmacy Council.
• Upper age 24: unmarried candidates born between 01.01.2003 and 01.01.2008; married candidates born between 01.01.2003 and 01.01.2006 are also eligible under this route as per the notification.

Physical standards match the airmen norms: 152.5 cm minimum height and 5 cm chest expansion, with the medical trade’s own fitness annexure in the advertisement.

Selection process

Phase 1 online CBT (English plus trade-relevant science sections as per the advertisement), Phase 2 physical fitness test and adaptability tests, then medical examination. Final enrolment list comes from CASB after all phases. The structure mirrors the main Agniveervayu 02/2027 intake, whose window is open in parallel with the same deadline; PCB candidates who also meet the “other than science” criteria sometimes apply to both, and the notification’s overlap rules decide how that is handled.
