How the amount has changed since launch

The scheme launched on 2 October 2014 at ₹51,000, was revised up to ₹75,116 in 2017, and reached the current ₹1,00,116 in 2018, where it’s held steady since, unchanged for 2026. By our count that is a rise of about 96% over the launch amount, all of it before 2019.

Marriage date rules in the form

Note: Checked on 29.09.2026, these rules come from the validation checks inside the official registration form. The form itself sets no deadline after the wedding. So the 3-month or 6-month limit repeated on many sites could not be confirmed from the portal, and applying before the wedding is the safest course.

Since the form accepts an application up to a month before the wedding, the practical move is to start gathering documents, Aadhaar, caste certificate, income certificate, before the wedding itself, so you’re not racing the clock once you’re already inside the application window.

Who qualifies

• Bride must be 18 or older; groom must be 21 or older.
• Combined parental annual income cap: ₹2,00,000 for urban families, ₹1,50,000 for rural families under the BC/EBC route (SC/ST income slabs may vary slightly, confirm your exact category’s threshold at application).
• No government employee or income-tax payer in the immediate family.
• Bride must belong to SC/ST/BC/EBC (for Kalyana Lakshmi) or a notified minority community (for Shaadi Mubarak).

Submitting the marriage assistance form and required proofs

Fully online, at kalyanalakshmi.telangana.gov.in or via the umbrella portal telanganaepass.cgg.gov.in (look for the Kalyana Lakshmi/Shaadi Mubarak banner on the homepage).

1. You can apply before the wedding. The registration form accepts a marriage date up to one month after the day you apply, and asks for marriage registration details only once the wedding has taken place.
2. Section 1 covers the bride’s details plus her mother’s bank account details, the grant is paid to the bride’s mother’s Aadhaar-linked account, not the bride’s own account or the groom’s.
3. Section 2 covers the groom’s details and marriage particulars, date, venue, and related information.
4. All uploaded documents must be in JPEG/JPG format, between 50KB and 150KB in size, files outside this range are commonly rejected at upload.
5. Submit and retain your application reference number.
