A note on the numbers: The government order of 07.08.2023 fixes ₹11,000 at birth and ₹51,000 at the second stage, so a girl who gets both receives ₹62,000 in all. Figures such as ₹52,000, ₹86,000 or an FD of ₹50,000 at birth, which some sites quote, do not appear in the order.

Who qualifies
- Permanent/domicile resident of Uttarakhand only.
- The birth should be in a government or private hospital or an ANM centre, or with a trained health worker where no hospital is available. A birth outside these is not excluded. It is accepted with a birth certificate from the local body or panchayat.
- The mother must have been registered at an anganwadi centre during the pregnancy, with a certificate from the anganwadi worker.
- Capped at 2 living girl children per family. Girls living in state-run or state-aided homes get the second stage without this limit.
- The girl must be unmarried at the time of claiming the Class 12 tranche.
- Family income up to ₹6,000 a month, which is ₹72,000 a year, shown on an income certificate issued by the Tehsildar only and valid for one year.

Applications are online-only. Portal names in circulation include nandagaurauk.in and nandagaura.uk.gov.in. Check both if one isn’t loading, as domain naming for this scheme has varied. There’s also a legacy departmental e-scholarship portal still indexed for the older Gaura Devi scheme name, though the current live process runs through the Nanda Gaura portal itself.
