The Bihar Student Credit Card 2026 (BSCC) provides interest-free education loans up to ₹4 lakh to students who have passed Class 12 from Bihar. The loan has been interest free for every applicant since the state's announcement of 16.09.2025. Before that it carried 4%, or 1% for women, divyang and transgender students. Note: With no interest, a full ₹4 lakh loan repaid over 120 months comes to about ₹3,333 a month. A ₹2 lakh loan over 84 months comes to about ₹2,381. Under the old 4% rate the same ₹4 lakh would have cost more in total. The EMI figures are our arithmetic on the principal alone.

Eligibility
- Bihar domicile who has passed Class 12 from a recognised school in Bihar
- Age: 25 years or below at the time of application
- Must be enrolled or applying for admission in one of 102 eligible courses at a recognised institution
- No income restriction for the family
- No other scholarship, allowance, student credit card or education loan from any source, as the portal's FAQ states
102 Eligible Courses Include
BA, B.Sc, B.Com, B.Tech, MBBS, BDS, B.Pharm, BCA, BBA, B.Ed, LLB, Polytechnic, ITI, Hotel Management, Agriculture, Nursing, MBA, MCA, M.Tech, and other professional courses from recognised institutions in India.
Applying for the education loan, portal, DRCC visit and papers

- Register with mobile number and Aadhaar
- Fill the online application, select your course and institution
- Upload documents
- DRCC (District Registration and Counselling Centre) will schedule a counselling appointment
- After counselling, loan sanction letter issued, funds disbursed directly to institution
