Factors Affecting the 2026 Cut Off
- Vacancies: 100 posts, same as 2024. Fewer seats means the shortlisting ratio stays tight and cut offs stay high
- Applicant volume: SCO targets only forex-experienced candidates, so the pool is much smaller than Clerk or PO. Cut offs tend to stay in a predictable band
- Paper difficulty: The Professional Knowledge section has been moderately difficult in previous years. Candidates from foreign trade desks tend to score better here
- Normalisation: If the exam runs across multiple slots, raw scores are normalised before publishing. Your raw mark will not match your final score in that case
Qualifying Cut Off vs Merit Cut Off
Two different cut offs apply here. The Phase I qualifying cut off is the minimum you need to get called for interview — that is what the table above shows. The final merit cut off is the combined Phase I and Phase II score needed for actual selection. The merit cut off is always higher, and you only learn it after all interviews are done.
Getting past the SBI SCO 2026 cut off in Phase I means an interview call. It does not mean selection. Your Phase I score counts for 200 of the total 250, so the written test still drives the outcome.
How to Use This Data for Preparation
The 2024 General cut off was 138.5 out of 200, roughly 70%. If you target 35 or more in Professional Knowledge and 30 or more in each of the other three sections, you are above that threshold. For General category candidates, aiming for 145 gives a comfortable buffer if the exam gets normalised.
