Phase I (Preliminary Examination) – Exam Pattern
Phase I is an objective-type test of 200 marks conducted for 120 minutes. The exam has four sections with equal weightage:

Phase I Syllabus
General Awareness: Current affairs (last 6 months), banking and financial awareness, RBI policies and monetary policy, government schemes and initiatives, national and international news, awards and recognitions, important dates and events.
Quantitative Aptitude: Simplification and approximation, number series, percentages, profit and loss, simple and compound interest, time and work, time speed and distance, ratio and proportion, permutation and combination, probability and statistics.
English Language: Reading comprehension, cloze test, sentence improvement, error detection, vocabulary based questions, para jumbles, fill in the blanks.
Reasoning: Syllogism, coding-decoding, direction and distance, blood relations, seating arrangements, puzzles, logical reasoning, statement and assumptions.
Phase II (Main Examination) – Exam Pattern
Phase II consists of three papers with a mix of objective and descriptive questions. Total marks: 300.

Phase II Syllabus
Economic & Social Issues: Macroeconomic concepts, inflation and deflation, GDP and economic growth, monetary and fiscal policy, balance of payments, foreign exchange management, government budget, financial inclusion, social security schemes, poverty and inequality, employment and labor issues, sustainable development.
Finance & Management: Corporate finance basics, financial statements and analysis, time value of money, investment decisions, risk and return concepts, working capital management, cost of capital, management principles, organizational behavior, strategic management, project management, operations management.
Descriptive English: Essay writing on current topics, formal letter writing, report writing, comprehension and commentary, grammar and language usage.
Phase III (Interview)
The interview carries 50 marks and assesses the candidate’s subject knowledge, communication skills, analytical ability, and personality traits. Questions are based on the Phase II papers and current affairs.
Exam Pattern Summary
Total Marks: 550 (Phase I: 200, Phase II: 300, Interview: 50). Qualification in each phase is mandatory. Sectional cut-offs are applicable in Phase I.
