UPTET exam pattern – know this before anything else
UPTET has two papers. Paper 1 is for teachers aiming at Classes 1 to 5. Paper 2 is for Classes 6 to 8. Both have 150 MCQs worth 150 marks, and you get 2 hours 30 minutes. There is no negative marking, so attempt every question. Leaving anything blank is just giving away marks.

How to actually use previous year papers
Downloading PDFs and not opening them will not help. Here is how to use them properly:
- Attempt under exam conditions. Set a 150-minute timer and sit somewhere quiet. Do not check answers mid-way.
- Analyse your mistakes section by section. For every wrong answer, figure out whether it was a concept gap, a calculation error, or just a misreading of the question. The reason matters.
- Track where your accuracy is consistently low. One bad section in one paper might be a fluke. The same section failing across three papers is a pattern.
- Aim to solve at least 5 previous year papers before the exam. Start from 2016 and work forward.
- Fix weak areas before moving to the next paper. Otherwise you keep making the same mistakes across papers.
