Eligibility for the Chhattisgarh State Eligibility Test

Candidates should hold a postgraduate degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university in the relevant subject. The usual minimum requirement is 55% marks for General category candidates and 50% marks for eligible reserved categories, including SC, ST, OBC non-creamy layer, PwD and transgender candidates, as applicable under the notification and Chhattisgarh rules. Candidates who are appearing in the final year of their postgraduate examination may also apply subject to completing the required qualification within the permitted period after the result.

There is no upper age limit for appearing in the eligibility test. Relaxation and reservation benefits are subject to the applicable Chhattisgarh domicile and category conditions. Candidates must check the subject-specific qualification and domicile clauses in the official notification before submitting the form.

Application fee

The fee is payable online. The notification also provides a fee-refund provision for eligible local residents who actually appear in the examination, subject to the conditions and process prescribed by CGSSB.

CG SET exam pattern and marking scheme

Paper I tests teaching and research aptitude, reasoning, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness. Paper II tests the subject selected by the candidate.
