Annapurna Yojana payment update — first and second installment

Annapurna Yojana was approved at the new state cabinet’s first meeting on 11.05.2026 and formally notified on 19.05.2026, replacing the earlier Lakshmir Bhandar payout structure with one flat ₹3,000 a month for every eligible woman. The scheme became effective from 01.06.2026, and enrollment has scaled fast: from roughly 28 lakh women in the first DBT round to over a crore by the second. The government has said it is targeting close to 2 crore beneficiaries once the enrollment window closes, and has been actively removing duplicate, deceased, or ineligible entries from the list — around 30 lakh names were purged during verification, and the beneficiary database is understood to be refreshed roughly every week.

Who is eligible for Annapurna Yojana

Eligible applicants are women aged 25 to 60, permanently resident in West Bengal, with a single (not joint) Aadhaar-linked bank account active for DBT and a digital ration card (AAY, PHH, SPHH, or RKSY category). Women who pay income tax or professional tax, or who work for the government or a government-aided institution, are not eligible. Names removed during the state’s electoral roll Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise are also excluded from the beneficiary list. The enrollment window has been running from 27.05.2026 to around 25.08.2026, so applicants who haven’t registered yet should not assume the door has closed.
