Candidates should hold a degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Electronics Engineering from a UGC-recognized university, a Central Government institute, or an institution established by the Government of Kerala. Equivalent qualifications accepted under the applicable rules may also be considered.

The notification also accepts AMIE (India) Section A and Section B in Electrical Engineering. An Associate Membership Diploma of the Institution of Engineers in India in Electrical Engineering, or another qualification recognized as equivalent, is also listed. A degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering may be accepted where the prescribed equivalence applies. Candidates should keep the relevant equivalence order ready if they are relying on an equivalent qualification.

Age limit and relaxation

The age limit is 18 to 40 years. Candidates must have been born between 02.01.1986 and 01.01.2008, both dates included. Other Backward Communities and SC/ST candidates are eligible for the usual age relaxation under Kerala PSC rules.

The notification contains a separate provision for provisional hands working in the Kerala State Housing Board. Eligible provisional employees may receive age relaxation for their provisional service, subject to the conditions and maximum limit stated in the official notification. Salary and vacancy details

The advertised pay scale for Kerala PSC Assistant Engineer (Electrical) is ₹51,400–1,10,300. The notification lists one vacancy. Only candidates who submit the confirmation within the prescribed period will be able to generate an admission ticket. The Commission will publish the confirmation period and admission-ticket availability through the examination calendar and candidate profile.

Documents supporting qualification, age, community and other claims must be produced whenever Kerala PSC asks for them. Candidates should not wait until the final stage to check whether their engineering qualification or equivalence document meets the notification requirements.
