Eligibility for ISRO UDC recruitment 2026

Applicants for Assistant and Upper Division Clerk posts need a graduation degree with at least 60% marks or the equivalent CGPA of 6.32 on a 10-point scale from a recognised university. Proficiency in computer use is also required. The degree must have been completed within the normal duration prescribed by the university.

Eligibility for ISRO stenographer vacancy

For Junior Personal Assistant and Stenographer posts, candidates can qualify through graduation with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA, or through a diploma in Commercial/Secretarial Practice with at least 60% marks and one year of experience as a Steno-Typist or Stenographer. A minimum English stenography speed of 60 words per minute and computer proficiency are required.

Age limit and relaxation

The upper age limit is 28 years for UR candidates. The cut-off date and category-wise relaxation should be checked in the detailed notification before applying. Reserved-category, PwBD, ex-servicemen and other eligible candidates receive relaxation under Government of India rules wherever applicable.

Salary and job profile

Selected candidates are placed in Level 4 of the Pay Matrix, with a basic pay of Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100. Dearness allowance, House Rent Allowance and other admissible benefits are paid according to Government of India rules and the place of posting.

Assistants and UDCs generally handle office records, correspondence, data entry, file work and routine administration. JPAs and Stenographers support officers with typing, scheduling, minutes, correspondence and stenography work. The exact duties depend on the centre or unit where the candidate is posted.

Application fee

The application fee is Rs. 500. The notification provides a refund after the candidate appears in the written test. For General, OBC, EWS and other applicable candidates, Rs. 400 is refundable; eligible SC, ST, PwBD, ex-servicemen and female candidates receive the refund specified in the notification. Pay only through the official application portal and keep the payment receipt.

Selection process

1. ISRO screens applications against the prescribed eligibility conditions.
2. Eligible candidates are called for a written test.
3. Assistant and UDC candidates appear for a computer literacy test.
4. JPA and Stenographer candidates appear for computer literacy and stenography tests.
5. The skill tests are qualifying in nature. Final selection is based on written-test performance, subject to document verification and the conditions in the advertisement.
