New in GATE 2027

IIT Madras has confirmed several important updates for this cycle. GATE 2027 will have 30 test papers, the syllabi have been revised, and a new paper named Robotics and Automation (RA) has been introduced. Candidates should also note the official changes related to Textile Engineering and Fibre Science and sectional paper codes in XE, XH and XL.

The exam remains a computer-based test and will be conducted in English. Candidates can appear for one paper or two papers, subject to the allowed two-paper combination rules shown on the official website. The GATE score is valid for three years from the result announcement date, but qualifying GATE does not automatically guarantee admission, scholarship or PSU employment.
