If your Sevana pension application is missing from the portal
A missing record usually comes down to one of three things: your Aadhaar isn’t linked to the bank account submitted with your application, your local body hasn’t finished verification yet, or there’s a name mismatch between your Aadhaar and your pension form. If the portal shows nothing against your Aadhaar number after a genuine wait of a few weeks post-application, visit your Gram Panchayat, Municipality or Corporation office with your Aadhaar card and application receipt. Don’t file a fresh application without checking first — a duplicate entry can delay both records getting sorted out.
Why the Sevana pension amount went up to ₹2,000
The state raised the flat welfare pension rate from ₹1,600 to ₹2,000 a month effective 1 November 2025, Kerala’s Formation Day, following a cabinet decision under Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The hike applies uniformly across old age, widow, disability, unmarried women’s and agricultural labour pension categories under the Sevana system. By February 2026, disbursement reports confirmed the ₹2,000 rate was being paid without the pending arrears that had accompanied the transition in earlier months — so if you’re still seeing ₹1,600 quoted anywhere online, that figure is out of date.
Sevana pension categories and who qualifies
| Category | Who it covers |
|---|---|
| Old age pension | Residents aged 60 and above, no other government pension |
| Widow pension | Widowed, divorced or destitute women, any age |
| Disability pension | Persons with certified disability |
| Unmarried women’s pension | Unmarried women aged 50 and above |
| Agricultural labour pension | Landless agricultural workers aged 60 and above |
Reported eligibility across these categories generally requires permanent Kerala residency, household income within the limit set for BPL/economically weaker households, and no other regular government pension. Exact income ceilings and disability-percentage thresholds can vary slightly by local body order, so confirm the current figure with your Panchayat or Municipality office before applying rather than relying on any single online source, including this one.
How to apply for Sevana pension
- Visit your nearest Gram Panchayat, Municipality or Corporation office.
- Collect the free Sevana Pension application form for your relevant category.
- Fill in personal details, Aadhaar number and Aadhaar-linked bank account details.
- Attach Aadhaar, age proof, income certificate, ration/BPL card, bank passbook copy and category-specific documents such as a disability or death certificate.
- Submit the form at the local body office and keep the acknowledgement receipt.
- Once the local body verifies and the district approves your application, payments begin via DBT, usually credited between the 1st and 10th of the month.
Income certificate deadline and other 2026 updates
The state extended the deadline for submitting income certificates for pensioners on the rolls since 31 December 2019, moving it from 31 December 2025 to 30 June 2026, submittable through Akshaya centres. February 2026’s disbursement round alone carried a ₹1,050 crore outlay. Keep in mind Sevana Pension is a separate system from Kerala Social Security Pension Ltd’s welfare fund board pensions, a different scheme for specific labour welfare funds — don’t mix beneficiary or budget figures between the two when comparing numbers you find elsewhere online.
