RPSC Senior Teacher Grade 2 2026 Syllabus – Exam Pattern

RPSC Senior Teacher Grade 2 2026 has two papers — a common General Studies paper for every subject, and a subject-specific paper based on which of the ten subjects you’re competing in. Both carry equal weight in negative marking, and both must be individually qualified. Last updated: 12.07.2026.

Paper 1 — General Studies (common to all subjects)

Paper 1 splits into four sections:

• Rajasthan Geography, History, Culture & General Knowledge — location, relief features, climate, drainage, vegetation, agriculture and livestock, population distribution, literacy, industries, planning and budget trends, major tourist centres
• Current Affairs of Rajasthan — recent state-level developments and news
• General Knowledge of India and the World — continents and oceans, global wind systems, environmental issues, globalisation, population distribution
• Educational Psychology — theories of learning and transfer of learning, learner development (physical, emotional, social), personality and adjustment, intelligence and creativity including emotional intelligence, motivation, individual differences, and education of children with special needs (gifted, slow learners)

Paper 2 — Subject-Specific

Paper 2 tests your registered subject — Mathematics, Science, English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Social Science, Urdu, Punjabi, Sindhi or Gujarati — at graduate level depth, aligned with what a Senior Teacher actually needs to teach at the secondary level. The exact topic-wise syllabus differs by subject; RPSC publishes a subject-specific Paper 2 syllabus alongside the main notification.

Preparation priorities

Educational Psychology is worth deliberate attention within Paper 1 — it’s a distinct, teaching-specific section that candidates coming from a pure academic background sometimes under-prepare, unlike the Rajasthan GK and current affairs sections which most competitive-exam aspirants already cover broadly. With 0.33 negative marking on both papers, accuracy on what you attempt matters more than attempting every question, especially in your weaker Paper 1 sections.
