Eligibility
- Any Indian citizen aged 10 years or above
- No existing bank account required
- Minors (10-18 years) can open with guardian
- No income requirement
How to Open PMJDY Account
- Visit any nationalized bank, private bank, or post office branch
- Ask for the PM Jan Dhan Yojana account opening form
- Submit Aadhaar card (if available) or any other KYC document
- Account opens same day in most branches — RuPay card issued within 10 days
Documents Required
- Aadhaar card (preferred) — if not available, passport, Voter ID, MNREGA job card, or driving licence
- One passport-size photograph
- If no official documents: letter from a gazetted officer certifying identity and address
