How to apply online for Azim Premji Scholarship 2026-27
The whole application is done on the Foundation’s own portal. Scan and resize all five documents before you start, because stopping midway to scan something is how most applicants lose a half-filled form.
- Open the new registration page for the 2026 cohort from the Important Links table at the end of this page.
- Enter your own mobile number and verify it with the OTP that arrives. Use a number that will stay active for the next few years, since renewal notices go to it.
- Create your user ID and password, then log in to the application form.
- Fill in your personal details exactly as they appear on your Aadhaar card. A mismatch in name spelling is one of the most common rejection reasons.
- Enter your Class 10 and Class 12 school details, board, year of passing and marks, and confirm the school was a government school.
- Enter your current college name, course, and course duration for the 2026-27 first year.
- Enter your bank account number, IFSC and branch, and check every digit against the passbook before moving on.
- Upload the five documents in PDF, PNG or JPG, each between 30 KB and 500 KB.
- Review the full form once, then submit. Save or screenshot the application ID shown on the confirmation screen.
- Log back in after a few days to confirm the application shows as submitted and that no document has been marked for re-upload.
The Foundation also publishes step-by-step explainer videos on its official YouTube channel, linked below.
Azim Premji Scholarship status check and login

| Status check question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Where to check application status | Log in at the official portal with the user ID and password you created. Status shows on your dashboard |
| Can I check without login | No. There is no public status page, and no status check by name or Aadhaar alone |
| Forgot password or user ID | Use the forgot-password option on the login page, which sends a reset to your registered mobile number |
| Status shows under review | Normal. Document verification takes weeks and the Foundation confirms in rounds |
| When is the selected list published | No date announced for the 2026 cohort as on 18.08.2026. Earlier cohorts were confirmed and paid in rounds over several months |
| Is there a PDF list of selected students | No. The Foundation does not publish a downloadable beneficiary list. Any site offering one is not official |
What to do if your name is not in the selected list
| Problem you are facing | What to do next |
|---|---|
| Application shows rejected | Log in and read the reason recorded against your application. Most rejections are about document quality, not eligibility |
| A document was marked unclear | Re-upload a clean scan within the window shown on the portal. Do not wait for the last day |
| No status update for weeks | Verification runs in rounds. Use the official WhatsApp support number before assuming something has gone wrong |
| You missed the 31 August deadline | Watch for a Round 2 window. The previous cohort had a second round in January, though 2027 dates are not confirmed yet |
| Money not credited after selection | Check that your bank account is still active and that the IFSC has not changed after a bank merger, then contact support with your application ID |
| Your state is not on the list | There is no appeal for this. The programme is expanding in phases, so check again for the next cohort |
Azim Premji Scholarship renewal 2026-27
| Renewal question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Who needs to apply for renewal | Girls already on the scholarship from the 2024 and 2025 cohorts, for academic year 2026-27 |
| When does renewal open | From September 2026, per the Foundation’s own notice |
| Is renewal automatic | No. You have to apply each year to keep receiving ₹30,000 |
| Do new applicants use this form | No. First-year students of 2026-27 use the new registration link, not the renewal link |
Mistakes that get the application rejected
| Common mistake | How to avoid it |
|---|---|
| Name spelling mismatch | Type your name exactly as printed on Aadhaar, including initials and word order |
| Uploading an online marksheet | The portal wants a scan of the board marksheet, not a downloaded result printout |
| Wrong IFSC code | Copy it from the passbook page itself, not from memory or an old cheque |
| Using a parent’s bank account | The account must be in the applicant’s own name |
| Selfie as photograph | Get a proper passport photo taken. Selfies are explicitly rejected |
| Submitting on the last day | Portal load is heaviest on 30 and 31 August. Apply early so there is time to fix a rejected upload |
