The Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) – the free ration scheme – has been extended until December 2028. This provides 5 kg of food grains per person per month completely free to all NFSA (National Food Security Act) beneficiaries.

Important Information Most Families Miss
- You must regularly lift your entitled grains. Non-lifting for several months can lead to deletion from the beneficiary list in many states.
- One Nation One Ration Card allows you to take ration from any Fair Price Shop anywhere in India.
- Some states provide additional quantity or better quality grains on top of the central allocation – ask your local FPS dealer.
- Portability works best when your ration card is Aadhaar-seeded and mobile is linked.
How to Check Free Ration Status & Last Lifted
- Go to mera.pmgkay.gov.in
- Enter your Ration Card number or registered mobile number
- View your monthly entitlement and last date when grains were lifted
