What if your roll number is missing from the PET list
A missing roll number has a small number of specific explanations, and each one has a different consequence.
| Why a roll number may be missing | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| You scored below 30 percent in the written exam | Treated as failed for PET under the recruitment rules, regardless of category |
| You cleared 30 percent but missed the category cut off | Only about five times the vacancies per category are called, so qualifying marks alone are not enough |
| Your candidature was cancelled | 80 candidates were disqualified on impersonation and unfair-means grounds under this advertisement |
| You were absent from the written exam | Roughly half the admitted candidates did not appear and are not in any list |
| You are searching the wrong category list | The PDF is split by reservation category and by ex-servicemen, home guard and direct-recruitment quota |
| Your quota list was reallocated | Shortfalls in the ex-servicemen and home guard quotas were refilled from direct-recruitment candidates of the same category |
Prohibition constable and jail warder vacancy breakup
The vacancy count in this recruitment changed twice after the original advertisement, which is why older

Written exam and PET selection stages
Understanding the shortlisting rule explains why a pass mark did not guarantee a place in this list.
| Selection rule that applied | What the notice specifies |
|---|---|
| Minimum qualifying marks | Below 30 percent in the written exam is treated as failed for PET |
| Shortlisting ratio for PET | Up to five times the vacancies in each reservation category |
| Whether the ratio can be reduced | Yes, the board may reduce it where enough qualified candidates are unavailable |
| Which posts go to physical measurement | Jail warder ex-servicemen and home guard quota candidates, whose final merit rests on the written exam |
| Mobile squad constable quota rule | Half the vacancies in each category are reserved for trained Bihar home guards |
| Total called for PET and PST | 19,681 candidates against 21,180 planned slots, short where enough qualified candidates were unavailable in a quota |
