The exam qualifies candidates for two things: Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor eligibility. No age limit for the teaching route. JRF has a 31-year cap. This cycle covers 86 subjects across sciences, humanities, law, management, and languages.
Application fee
General: Rs. 1,150 | OBC/EWS: Rs. 600 | SC/ST/PwD: Rs. 325. Payment is online only — debit card, credit card, net banking, or e-challan.
Eligibility
Master’s degree with 55% marks in the relevant subject is required. Final-year students can apply provisionally. Candidates with a 4-year undergraduate degree also qualify under revised UGC norms.
